Sr Lab Equipment Maintenance Engineer (Liquid Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry)<br>Analytical Technologies Unit, Research Infrastructure and Equipment Maintenance<br>Summary The Senior Lab Equipment Maintenance Specialist provides professional expert service and support for high-tech/high-end laboratory research equipment by performing field service repairs, maintenance, calibrations, and alignments. He/she will be a mentor to junior maintenance personnel, and will prepare, plan and complete user maintenance and equipment operation training sessions. The Senior LEM Specialist will deliver the highest level of service to maximize equipment uptime while minimizing maintenance costs. The Senior LEM Specialist will work within guidelines established by the LEM Director and Laboratory Equipment Maintenance Leads and will follow established standard operating procedures.<br>Major Responsibilities Respond quickly to maintenance and troubleshooting requests Complete assigned work at the highest possible level of quality and in a timely manner Coordinate with end-user to schedule equipment maintenance and other services Build and maintain strategic functional and productive relationships with research equipment manufacturers and vendors Leverage relationships with the manufacturers to facilitate the necessary support and training for the team. Job Purpose:The Automation & Surveillance Engineer is responsible for carrying out core technical activities related to the design, testing, validation, and ongoing support of Automation and Surveillance systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices within set KPI’s, agreed budgets and adopted policies and procedures.<br>Responsibilities:<br>Pre-sale Technical Proposals: Oversee the development of technical proposals for Automation and Surveillance systems in response to RFPs from clients. Ensure these proposals meet regulatory and operational standards, including system design concepts, performance specifications, and compliance with aviation industry standards. Project Management & Coordination System Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design and implementation of Automation and Surveillance systems, working closely with internal teams to ensure systems are engineered to meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements. System Testing and Validation: Lead the testing and validation processes for Automation and Surveillance systems, ensuring adherence to design requirements and regulatory standards. Provide technical assistance during the transition to operational use, including shadow mode testing and activities for full entry into operation. Regulatory Compliance: Continuously monitor and ensure that all Automation and Surveillance systems comply with relevant ICAO and other aviation industry regulations. Provide ongoing technical assessments and adjustments to maintain compliance. Quality Assurance and System Commissioning: Assist in the quality assurance process, ensuring that systems meet all specified technical and operational requirements. Participate in the commissioning of new systems, providing oversight to ensure successful implementation. Project Planning: Creation of detailed project schedules, identifying key milestones, and assigning tasks to team members, ensuring that all timelines are met. Development Management: Implementation, and continuous improvement of Automation and Surveillance system’s design to meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards. Design Review and Quality Assurance: Lead the system design reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR), ensuring that designs meet technical and operational requirements with oversee quality assurance tests and systems commissioning, ensuring all deliverables meet client expectations and industry standards. System Integration: Lead the integration of Automation and Surveillance systems with existing and future systems, collaborating with other departments and external entities to ensure seamless technical interfacing and system compatibility. Compliance with Industry Standards: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICAO and other relevant regulations, and ensure that all engineering activities comply with these standards, particularly in safety-critical aspects of air traffic management. Engineering Assessments: Support the assessment of air traffic service (ATS) procedure changes and airspace structure adjustments on existing and future Automation and Surveillance systems. Stakeholder Management Internal Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate the interactions with internal stakeholders, including technical, financial, and legal teams, to obtain necessary information and approvals for bid submissions. Other Engineering Departments: Coordinate with other engineering departments to facilitate meeting the client expectation within the project specification and standards. Vendor and Contractor Coordination: Collaborate with vendors and contractors to develop RFPs, participate in proposal evaluation, and oversee the technical aspects of contract execution. Ensure all external activities align with project specifications and quality standards. Performance and Reporting Reporting: Reporting project status, technical challenges, and proposed solutions to Automation and Surveillance Manager. Consultation Technical Support and Consultation: Offer expert technical support during the execution phase of projects, collaborating with the installation and planning teams to ensure seamless project delivery. Act as a consultant to clients, ensuring that solutions align with the client’s operational goals and industry standards. Policies, Processes and Procedures Compliance: Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance to policies and procedures. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes taking into account leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement. <br>Specialized Skills Proficient in engineering design and simulation software, with experience in integrating and maintaining Automation and Surveillance systems. In-depth knowledge of Automation and Surveillance systems, including Air Traffic Management (ATM) automation, radar systems, ADS-B, and multilateration (MLAT) technologies. Familiarity with ICAO standards, CNS/ATM systems, and relevant aviation regulations. Experience with system architecture, signal processing, and the implementation of advanced surveillance technologies in aviation. Staff Management Supervise and manage all palace employees, including housekeeping, drivers, gardeners, maintenance staff, kitchen staff, administrative personnel, and other service staff. Prepare work schedules, duty rosters, and shift arrangements. Monitor employee attendance, performance, discipline, and productivity. Conduct regular performance evaluations and recommend training, promotions, or corrective actions when required. Ensure that all employees comply with palace policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements. Coordinate recruitment and replacement of palace staff in cooperation with HR.3. Maintenance & Facilities Management Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of the palace, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, elevators, generators, water systems, landscaping, and other facilities. Coordinate with maintenance contractors and service providers. Ensure that preventive maintenance schedules are properly implemented. Follow up on maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution of problems. Monitor the condition of furniture, equipment, fixtures, vehicles, and other palace assets.4. Security & Safety Coordinate with security teams to ensure the safety and privacy of the owner, family, guests, employees, and property. Ensure proper access control and visitor management procedures. Coordinate security arrangements for special events and important visitors. Ensure compliance with fire safety, emergency procedures, and other safety requirements. Immediately report any security, safety, or operational incidents to senior management.5. Hospitality & Guest Services Ensure exceptional hospitality services for the owner, family members, VIP guests, and visitors. Coordinate reception, accommodation, transportation, catering, and other guest requirements. Ensure that guest areas are fully prepared before arrival. Coordinate special events, family gatherings, official visits, and private functions held at the palace.6. Procurement & Inventory Monitor palace requirements and coordinate purchasing of supplies and services. Ensure appropriate stock levels for housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, office supplies, and other operational requirements. Review supplier quotations and coordinate with Procurement/Finance according to company procedures. Monitor supplier performance and service quality. Maintain accurate records of palace assets, inventory, and consumables.<br>8. Transportation & Vehicles Supervise palace drivers and transportation arrangements. Ensure that palace vehicles are properly maintained, clean, insured, and available when required. Coordinate transportation schedules for the owner, family members, guests, and official visitors. Monitor vehicle maintenance, fuel consumption, registration, and related documentation.9. Events & Special Arrangements Plan and coordinate palace events, receptions, dinners, celebrations, and VIP visits. Coordinate catering, decoration, housekeeping, security, transportation, and other event requirements. Ensure all arrangements are completed according to the required standards and timelines.10. Confidentiality & Privacy Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the owner's personal affairs, family information, schedules, visitors, business activities, and private matters. Ensure that all palace employees understand and comply with confidentiality requirements. Immediately report any breach of confidentiality or privacy to senior management.<br>Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, or a related field. Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in palace, private residence, luxury hospitality, five-star hotel, VIP facility, or high-level household management. Proven experience managing large and diverse teams. Strong knowledge of facilities, maintenance, housekeeping, hospitality, and service operations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle confidential matters with discretion. Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities.
