The role requires expertise in refractory installation, gunning, fettling, lining optimization, refractory consumption control, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Shift Operations Lead and supervise all refractory activities during the assigned shift across the Steel Melt Shop. Ensure uninterrupted refractory support to production with minimum delays and downtime. Coordinate with Production, Mechanical, Electrical, Operations, and Planning teams for smooth execution of refractory maintenance activities. Prepare and communicate shift handover reports, highlighting equipment status and pending activities. Inspect refractory workmanship and quality before equipment commissioning. Maintain records of refractory consumption and campaign performance. Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures. Enforce Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessment practices. Conduct toolbox talks and promote a strong safety culture. Ensure safe handling and storage of refractory materials. Maintain compliance with ISO standards and statutory regulations.
