Missions/Main Duties
<br><ul><li>Implement and monitor mechanical construction activities in accordance with approved drawings, method statements, project specifications, and safety requirements.</li><li>Review contractor mechanical shop drawings in coordination with structural, architectural, and electrical disciplines to ensure proper integration and compliance.</li><li>Conduct regular site inspections and evaluate subcontractor performance to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements.</li><li>Support and guide site inspectors on mechanical engineering matters and assist in resolving technical issues.</li><li>Work closely with site inspectors to maintain complete and accurate Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).</li><li>Review site preparation activities and temporary works to verify compliance with contract documents and project standards.</li><li>Supervise mechanical installations and monitor contractor construction schedules related to MEP works.</li><li>Identify, report, and assist in resolving technical issues related to HVAC, smoke management systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, escalators, elevators, and other mechanical services.</li><li>Maintain and track mechanical defects, snags, and punch-list items, ensuring timely corrective action by contractors.</li><li>Review and provide comments on testing and commissioning results for mechanical systems.</li><li>Attend project meetings, site progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings with clients and project stakeholders.</li><li>Monitor compliance with site safety, health, environmental, and security requirements.</li><li>Assist in planning and sequencing construction activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.</li><li>Monitor work progress and support verification for progress payments and schedule reporting.</li><li>Review Field Change Requests (FCRs) and provide technical input regarding mechanical-related variations and claims.</li><li>Implement corrective actions to address delays and support timely completion of project objectives.</li><li>Prepare daily reports, inspection reports, estimates, and other project documentation as required.</li><li>Participate in final inspections, snagging activities, and project closeout processes.</li></ul>
Profile/Skills
<br><ul><li>Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.</li><li>Minimum 5 years of relevant site-based experience on construction projects involving mechanical systems.</li><li>Extensive experience with HVAC systems, smoke management systems, plumbing, firefighting systems, escalators, and elevators.</li><li>Strong ability to interpret and execute mechanical drawings and technical documentation.</li><li>Sound understanding of engineering drawings, multidisciplinary interfaces, and construction processes.</li><li>Good knowledge of site management practices, construction safety requirements, and quality control procedures.</li><li>Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams.</li></ul>

In this role you will get to lead the Civil Engineering Discipline group within the Technical Support Section within the Engineering Department providing support to all Yanbu projects.</p><p><strong>What You'll Be Doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Plan and perform engineering work as necessary to meet the overall city industrial and community infrastructure development program requirements and standards.</li><li>Manage the engineering discipline team to meet the development program requirements including resource planning, workload prioritization and coordination with other disciplines and departmental sections.</li><li>Provides leadership, guidance and training to lower-level personnel and monitors their performance.</li><li>Review A/E consultant and EPC contractor design drawings, specifications, and calculation submittals; and coordinate the same with the work of other disciplines.</li><li>Provide technical advice to other sections and departments within the Royal Commission including participation in meetings and workshops as required.</li><li>Prepare proposals for design work including scope of work, design concepts, sketches and costs estimates for labor, equipment, and materials.</li><li>Prepare and update technical specifications, guidelines, and standard drawings in coordination with other disciplines.</li><li>Provide technical assistance during pre-bid conferences, proposal evaluations, and post-award or other contract conferences and value engineering.</li><li>Actively participates in value engineering and constructability workshops</li><li>Process submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFI's.</li><li>Review vendor and shop drawings and construction materials.</li><li>Assist in resolving clashes and conflicts between services.</li><li>Perform field inspections and provide professional field support and construction trouble shooting as necessary during construction phases.</li><li>Preparation and presentation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies.</li><li>Functions as a technical expert in performing analyses in specialized areas.</li><li>Reviews and provides guidance in problem areas, recommends solutions, alternatives, and improvements.</li><li>Preparation and presentation of technical correspondence, reports, and studies.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p><strong>What Required Skills You'll Bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject</li><li>Minimum of 10 years of experience working in an engineering design environment, with at least 5 years as a team lead or supervisor working on the design of large scale industrial, commercial, and residential infrastructure projects.</li><li>Previous experience of working in the Middle East and knowledge of Saudi Building Code (SBC Codes) regulations will be considered an advantage.</li><li>Possess comprehensive design and construction support experience in site development, site grading, roads, and wet utilities (water, sanitary, sewage etc.) for large residential, industrial, and commercial areas.</li><li>Registration in Country of Origin in an Engineering Professional Association equivalent to US PE or UK Chartered Engineer status is essential.</li><li>Experience in the development of hydraulic network models e.g. SewerGEMS and WaterGEMS, including model calibration and interpretation of results.</li><li>A proven record of technical and administrative ability in design management including the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.</li></ul><p><strong>What Desired Skills You'll Bring:</strong></p><ul><li>Demonstrable experience in the application of North American and international codes and standards.</li><li>Experience of BIM processes and procedures in accordance with ISO 19650 or the US National BIM Standards will be considered an advantage.</li></ul>
