About the job Civil Engineer
<p><strong><strong>About the Project</strong></strong></p><br>
<p>A landmark high-rise tower and branded 5-star hotel development located in the Makkah Region, Saudi Arabia. The position is site-based. All engineering disciplines are required to be proficient in BIM (Building Information Modelling), and prior experience on high-rise towers and branded 5-star hotel projects is required across technical and engineering positions. Candidates with prior experience working in the Makkah Region are given strong preference.</p><br>
<p><strong>Key Roles & Responsibilities</strong></p><br>
<ul><li>Act as the Main Contractor's/Developer's site engineer, taking full responsibility for direct execution, resourcing, and delivery of civil and structural works — not limited to a supervisory or consultancy role.</li><li>Supervise and execute civil and structural works (substructure, superstructure, concrete works, waterproofing) as per approved drawings and specifications.</li><li>Support and contribute to the execution and coordination of architectural works.</li><li>Review structural drawings, shop drawings, and method statements for civil works prior to execution.</li><li>Conduct and record formal site work inspections at each construction stage (excavation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete pour, backfilling) prior to sign-off.</li><li>Coordinate with quality, safety, and planning teams to ensure civil and architectural works progress per schedule and standards.</li><li>Monitor material and workmanship quality against project specifications and the Saudi Building Code.</li><li>Manage direct labor crews and/or subcontractors, and verify progress and quantities for payment certification.</li><li>Prepare and verify quantity take-offs and measurement of executed works for interim payment certificates and variation evaluation.</li><li>Coordinate directly with the Technical Team and design consultants on RFIs, site queries, and design clarifications.</li><li>Maintain daily site records, progress reports, and as-built documentation.</li><li>Ensure adherence to health and safety requirements during works activities.<br>#CivilEngineer #SiteEngineer #StructuralEngineer #ConstructionEngineer #HighRiseConstruction #HighRiseTower #FiveStarHotel #HospitalityProjects #BuildingInformationModeling #BIM #CivilConstruction #StructuralConstruction #ConcreteWorks #Superstructure #Substructure #ArchitecturalWorks #SiteExecution #MainContractor #ProjectDelivery #QuantityTakeoff #SaudiBuildingCode #ConstructionManagement #MakkahJobs #SaudiArabiaJobs #EngineeringJobs</li></ul>

Our values shape the way we consult and define the people we want to join us on our journey.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>The project:</strong></span></p><br><p><span>Mace is providing project management services on a major new build mall in the heart of Saudi Arabia, the project will consist of retail units, hotels, food and beverage, and associated car parking.</span></p><br><p><span>The role will be responsible for overseeing the design process across a large-scale shopping mall development incorporating retail, hospitality, food and beverage, entertainment, and associated infrastructure. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, consultants, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure the design vision is successfully translated into a coordinated, buildable, and commercially viable solution.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>You’ll be responsible for:</strong></span></p><br><p><span>• Supervise the design management process from concept design through detailed design and construction documentation. </span><br><span>• Manage multidisciplinary design consultants and specialist stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. </span><br><span>• Establish and maintain design programmes, deliverable schedules, and design management plans. </span><br><span>• Drive design coordination across architectural, structural, MEP, landscape, retail planning, and specialist disciplines. </span><br><span>• Monitor design progress and ensure deliverables are achieved in line with programme requirements. </span><br><span>• Identify design risks, constraints, and interface issues, implementing mitigation strategies where required. </span><br><span>• Facilitate design workshops, technical reviews, and stakeholder meetings. </span><br><span>• Ensure designs align with operational, commercial, customer experience, and asset management objectives. </span><br><span>• Review design deliverables for quality, completeness, buildability, and compliance with project requirements. </span><br><span>• Support procurement activities, tender documentation reviews, and contractor engagement. </span><br><span>• Coordinate with project controls, commercial and delivery teams to ensure effective integration across the programme. </span><br><span>• Manage design approvals, governance processes and stakeholder sign-off requirements. </span><br><span>• Provide regular reporting on design status, risks, key decisions and programme impacts. </span><br><span>• Promote innovation, sustainability and value engineering opportunities throughout the design process.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>You’ll need to have:</strong></span></p><br><p><span>• Degree qualified in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline. </span><br><span>• Proven experience delivering major shopping malls, retail destinations, or mixed-use developments. </span><br><span>• Demonstrable experience leading projects from concept design through detailed design stages. </span><br><span>• Strong understanding of retail planning, customer experience, operational requirements, and commercial considerations within shopping mall developments. </span><br><span>• Experience managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and complex stakeholder environments. </span><br><span>• Strong knowledge of design management methodologies, governance processes and design assurance practices. </span><br><span>• Excellent programme management, coordination and communication skills. </span><br><span>• Experience working within PMC, client-side, developer or programme management environments is preferred. </span><br><span>• Professional accreditation such as RIBA, MRICS, MCIOB, PMP or equivalent is advantageous.</span><br><span>• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and relevant work experience working on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.</span></p><br><p><br><span><strong>Our values</strong></span></p><br><p><span><strong>Safety first - Going home safe and well: </strong>We champion a safe, diverse, and inclusive working environment, understanding the importance of well-being in every team.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Client focus - Deliver on our promise: </strong>We own the quality of deliverables and strategic outcomes and build long-term relationships with our clients.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Integrity - Always do the right thing:</strong> We influence positive outcomes within our industry while always aligning with our compliance obligations.</span></p><br><p><span><strong>Create opportunity - For our people to excel:</strong> We champion a continuous improvement culture throughout all activities, inspiring our people and teams to develop.</span></p><br><p><br><span>Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates.
