<p>Job Title: Engineering Operations Team Leader Salary: Competitive Location: Taif, Saudi Arabia JOB PURPOSE BAE Systems is the UK Government s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons. Liaising with the MOF, Rectification Control and Line Control, ensure that planned maintenance activities are prioritized to facilitate the flying program, contributing to the achievement of contract performance targets.</p><p>JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Task Aircraft Generation Flight (AGF) maintainers, via MOF schedulers and controllers, to carry out changes to the configuration or role of Sqn aircraft as and when requested by the customer. Support the planning of aircraft maintenance activities with the use of the Part M fleet daily direction documentation, specific responsibilities include the day-to-day assurance that aircraft allocated by the MOF meet the Part M direction, support to strategic maintenance planning and attending scheduled flying planning reviews. Compile and maintain aircraft statistics for Flying Hours, TS Typhoon usage including solo role, ground technical aborts, sorties, conversion qualification training for presentation, where required, to operations managers, fleet and the customer. Produce and present the daily maintenance brief, informed by thorough research of all aircraft reported faults and associated maintenance activities, and presentations to the Sqn Cmdr and pilots at the morning Met Brief. Manage and control the aircrew Technical Queries (TQ) in conjunction with the Forward Operations Teamcenter holder(s) and the TSC, ensuring that all aircrew-generated TQ are monitored and answered promptly by the Design Organisation, and replies communicated to TQ originators. Support the AMO s rectification activities by aiding with fault diagnosis, through pilot debrief and the investigation and analysis of maintenance data records through ESS; present these findings to the pilots in the daily MET briefs and when requested brief the TSC relevant department as well as the Typhoon Operations Team Leads and Manager. Present technical briefs on aircraft systems and maintenance operations issues, to the Sqn Cdr, trainee and instructor pilots when requested. Undertake aircraft related projects tasked by the Sqn Cmdr when agreed with the Maintenance Support Team Leader this may include supporting the customer with Unit Inquiries. Inform aircrew of aircraft serviceability states, flying requirements and limitations, and the locations and forecasts for completion of aircraft maintenance. Ensure that the daily and weekly flying programmes are entered on the Typhoon Engineering Support System (ESS). Ensure that the Flight Line Controller is fully aware of the following: Crew walk times. Take-off / Landing times. Any requirements for land away checks. <p>Supervise and control the entire drilling operations activities during the day shift, ensuring the successful completion of the well and drilling activities while liaising closely with OIM considering the safety of personnel, the environment, and equipment to maximize drilling operation efficiency.<br> <br> <strong> <u>Roles & Responsibilities:</u> </strong> </p>
<p> <strong>Drilling Operations:</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Ensures the safety of personnel, equipment, and the efficiency of operations on the drill floor and other drilling operation associated areas.</li>
<li>Plans and schedules all drilling and associated activity. Directs personnel towards achieving optimum job performance according to the client s requirements.</li>
<li>Ensures any deviation from client well plan (Game Plan) is approved by OIM, and that Client representative has documented in written form.</li>
<li>Consult with the OIM/Night Tool pusher and Client s Representative regarding the progress of the Drilling program and associated operations, keeping the driller informed about the ongoing drilling program objectives and communicating any changes in plans.</li>
<li>Relieve the Driller at the Driller s console as operational requirement demands.</li>
<li>Ensures by pre-planning that all necessary equipment is ready for the next phase of the Drilling / Workover program.</li>
<li>Assists & supervises drilling crew at the worksite at all relevant times, ensuring circulating time is sufficient and the well is stable on trips, when the BHA is being worked and whenever there is a hole problem.</li>
<li>Operates the drilling unit with strict adherence to company Drilling & Well Control manuals, by reviewing and approving all drilling related work permits.</li>

<p> <strong>Well Control:</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Ensure that well control requirements are in place according to operational requirements - assist in supervising well killing operations in any well control situation.</li>
<li>Plans & monitors comprehensive well control parameters to proactively identify any signs of well control issues for early detection and swift response.</li>
<li>Maintains and regularly tests well control equipment, in accordance with Company s and Client s requirement ensuring its readiness and effectiveness in critical situations.</li>
<li>Perform all well control calculations (i.e., mud weight increase, initial and final circulating pressures, number of strokes, etc.).</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>Management of Major Emergencies:</strong> </p>

<li>To be part of the installation s Emergency Response Team as detailed in the Emergency Plan and in Company Procedures.</li>
<li>Ensure that all personnel are instructed in the procedures to be adopted in the case of an emergency.</li>
<li>Ensure that Well Control and general safety drills are held and recorded in accordance with Company requirements.</li>

<p> <strong>Materials Equipment:</strong> </p>

<li>Assist the OIM/Night Toolpusher in ensuring the installation has sufficient stock of parts and materials to perform drilling and associated operations as per contractual requirements.</li>
<li>Ensure planned maintenance and repair of drilling equipment including draw works, mud pumps, top drive, rotary table, and BOP are completed and documented to ensure optimum condition and proper availability of required tools.</li>

<p> <strong>Rig Move:</strong> </p>

<li>Carries out related duties to prepare the rig for towing, ensure the cantilever, rig floor and drilling equipment are correctly secured by the drilling crew prior to the rig move.</li>

Establish consistent risk identification, assessment, treatment, escalation, monitoring and reporting processes across strategic, financial, operational, project, regulatory, HSE and other material business risks, including processes for identifying and escalating emerging risks and changes in the Company’s risk profile. Facilitate executive and functional risk reviews; provide clear risk reporting, trend analysis and material risk advice to the CEO, leadership team and relevant governance forums. Establish assurance, action tracking and records processes that demonstrate effective implementation and continuous improvement of risk controls.<br>Health & Safety Management Develop, implement and maintain MEC’s health and safety management system, policies, standards, procedures and assurance processes for corporate, exploration, project, field and future operating activities. Provide leadership and technical advice on legal & other H&S obligations, contractor management, occ. health, field safety, training, competency & safety performance Develop, implement and maintain MEC’s incident management framework and processes, including notification, classification, escalation, investigation, regulatory reporting, corrective actions, lessons learned and verification of action effectiveness. Lead or provide oversight of investigations into significant and high-potential incidents and ensure material events are appropriately communicated and escalated to MEC leadership, JV partners and HPPL, as applicable. Establish practical leading and lagging performance measures, inspection and audit programs, corrective action processes and management reporting. Promote visible leadership, workforce engagement, learning and a culture in which hazards are identified, concerns raised, & work stopped when controls are not effective.<br>Operational Risk & Major Hazards Establish and maintain an operational risk management process focused on credible major hazard and material unwanted event scenarios across exploration, studies, projects and future mining operations. Lead or coordinate structured hazard and risk assessments, including bowtie or equivalent critical control analysis, and establish clear critical control ownership, performance requirements, verification and assurance arrangements. Ensure major hazard risks are considered through study, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, operations and management of change, with emphasis on eliminating or reducing risk through effective higher-order and engineered controls where reasonably practicable. Provide independent challenge and advice on significant operational risk decisions and escalate material control weaknesses or unacceptable exposures to the CEO.<br>Crisis & Emergency Management Develop, implement, test and maintain MEC’s crisis management and emergency management framework, including corporate crisis arrangements, site emergency response requirements, escalation protocols, communications, business continuity and recovery interfaces. Ensure emergency arrangements reflect remote exploration and project environments and foreseeable events including medical emergencies, fire, vehicle incidents, severe weather, security events and major operational incidents. Establish arrangements for the identification, assessment, monitoring and management of geopolitical and security-related crises that could affect MEC personnel, operations, travel, supply chains or business continuity, including regional conflict, civil or political instability, terrorism or security threats, disruption to critical infrastructure and transportation, and restrictions on movement or access. Develop and maintain appropriate crisis response, personnel accountability, travel/security escalation, shelter-in-place, relocation and evacuation arrangements for significant geopolitical or security events, working with MEC leadership, JV partners, HPPL and relevant government, security and specialist service providers as appropriate. Establish exercise, drill, training, equipment-readiness, lessons-learned and improvement programs covering credible emergency and crisis scenarios, including significant geopolitical and security events, and coordinate interfaces with JV partners, contractors, emergency services and relevant authorities. Provide leadership and specialist support during significant incidents, emergencies and crises, including crisis coordination, notification, escalation, executive decision support, communications, transition to investigation, recovery and post-event review activities.<br>JV, Regulatory & Corporate Alignment Represent MEC’s health, safety and risk interests with selected JVs and on relevant steering committees; work collaboratively with JV operators to agree practical standards, reporting, assurance and escalation arrangements. Engage with Saudi regulators, ministries and other authorities on health, safety, risk and emergency management matters, supporting permits, submissions, inspections, reporting and regulatory compliance as required. Ensure MEC systems and activities align, where applicable, with Hancock Prospecting group HSEC, risk, governance and corporate requirements while remaining fit for MEC’s KSA context and JV obligations. Work with Studies & Projects, Exploration, External Affairs, Business Development and other functions to integrate H&S and risk requirements into business planning, project development, contracts, contractor selection and operational readiness. Support local capability development by building H&S and risk competency within MEC teams and relevant contractor/JV interfaces; undertake other duties and responsibilities as reasonably required from time to time.<br>Experience:Minimum 15 years health, safety and risk experience, preferably in mining, minerals, exploration, major projects or other major-hazard industries with demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining enterprise risk management and H&S management frameworks, systems and governance processes. Strong operational risk and major hazard experience, including structured risk assessment, identification and management of major hazard scenarios, critical control management and assurance of material controls with demonstrated experience leading and/or overseeing significant and high-potential incident investigations, including causal analysis, identification of systemic and organisational contributing factors, corrective action development and organisational learning. Demonstrated experience developing, exercising and leading crisis and emergency management arrangements, including response to operational, security and/or geopolitical events in remote, &/or international environments. Experience working with JVs, contractors, senior executives and boards/governance forums, including influencing and establishing effective H&S and risk governance where operational control is shared or held by a partner. Experience engaging with regulators and government stakeholders. Experience operating within KSA, the Middle East or comparable international mining/resources environments is beneficial but not required.<br>Qualifications:Graduate Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Engineering, Science, Business, Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant tertiary qualifications and substantial senior-level professional experience. across all published content in LMS/LXP, ensuring every module carries the correct realm tag, skill tag, language tag, audience tag, and content type classification.<br> • Manage content version Training Leads, and senior stakeholders.<br> • Produce regular operational reports covering learner completion rates, module engagement, assessment scores, at-risk learner flags, and platform activity volumes, distributing these to the relevant stakeholders on an agreed reporting cadence.<br> • Monitor Qiddiya’s LMS/LXP Insights on a daily and weekly basis, identifying completion gaps, engagement drops, or data anomalies and escalating to the Senior Manager, Digital Systems with a clear summary and recommended action.<br> • Maintain the four-view QREL reporting suite — Learning Administrator, BU Training Lead, Senior Stakeholders, and Performance Team — ensuring dashboards are accurate, up to date, and aligned to the agreed KPI framework.<br> • Track and report on platform health metrics including login frequency, session duration, active learner counts, at-risk content flags, and notification open rates, providing weekly summaries to the Senior Manager, Digital Systems.<br> • Ensure all learner data and reporting outputs are handled in accordance with QREL data governance standards and Qiddiya's data privacy requirements.<br> Stakeholder Coordination and Communication • Act as summaries, and status updates for internal meetings, Steerco sessions, and vendor reviews.<br> Skills and Attributes required/ desired Essential (must have to perform the role): • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Learning and Development, Education, or a related field.<br> • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in a learning administration, LMS/LXP management, or digital learning operations role, preferably in a large organization.<br> • Demonstrated working knowledge in managing a LMS/LXP (for examples Sana, Cornerstone, etc), including learner account management, content publishing, enrolment configuration, and reporting.<br> • Experience uploading, configuring, and troubleshooting SCORM content within an LMS/LXP environment.<br> • Proficiency in building and maintaining dashboards and reports using LMS/LXP Insights, Power BI, or equivalent data visualisation tools.<br> • Strong organisational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, account management, and content configuration.<br> • Working knowledge of digital learning authoring tools
