JOB PURPOSE:To support and execute project Mechanical commissioning activities assigned. To implement ACWA Power Commissioning Standards and best practices on site for Mechanical systems. Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning of Mechanical systems including pumps, compressors, piping, valves, boilers, HRSGs, turbines, and auxiliaries. Execute functional testing, system flushing, leak testing, alignment, and troubleshooting under guidance of the Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager. Perform inspections and pre-commissioning checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and codes. Record test results and prepare commissioning reports for acceptance. Coordinate with design, construction, electrical, I&C, and DCS teams to resolve technical issues. Liaise with vendors and OEMs during testing and troubleshooting. Support documentation reviews (test reports, as-built drawings, commissioning records). Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations. Implement safety measures during Mechanical testing and commissioning activities. Participate in safety audits and risk assessments. Work under the direction of the Senior Mechanical Commissioning Manager and collaborate with commissioning team members. Support knowledge sharing and teamwork across commissioning disciplines. Support junior engineers and technicians in day-to-day commissioning tasks as delegated. Adhere to approved departmental policies, processes, and procedures. Apply ACWA Power Commissioning processes and best practices during project execution.<br>Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.</p><br><br><br><p>The Precision Control Actuation System department is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the PCAS organization to support the development, build, and verification of control actuation systems.&nbsp;The PCAS organization staffs mechanical engineers for a variety of roles supporting primarily control section Integrated Product Teams.&nbsp;You will provide various mechanical engineering support as needs of programs fluctuate.&nbsp;Based on skillsets, support may include but is not limited to detailed mechanical design, earned value management, test design and execution, and systems engineering.&nbsp;You will be expected to flex responsibilities based on the current needs of the organization and their respective skill sets.</p><br><br><br><p><b>What You Will Do</b></p><br><br><ul><li><p>At this grade level, you will be expected to work autonomously, have expert level knowledge within the control mechanism development domain, and assist in developing strategic vision for functional and organizational strategies of the PCAS organization, beyond assigned program work.</p><br><br></li><li><p>The PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work.&nbsp;PCAS mechanical engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, hardware tuning, and hardware verification.</p><br><br></li><li><p>The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated control system technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS mechanical engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth.</p><br><br></li></ul><br><p><b>Qualifications You Must Have:</b></p><br><br><ul><li><p>Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience</p><br><br></li><li><p>A minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering design</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience with any controls and actuation systems (CAS) for products or hardware or manufacturing or design</p><br><br></li></ul><br><p><b>Qualifications We Prefer</b></p><br><br><ul><li><p>Experience with Systems or Mechanical Engineering of servo controls</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience with development of CAS requirements, CAS architecture, requirements risk, requirements verification and validation, system performance &amp; function, safety and environmental compliance</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience in working with control actuation systems that employ permanent magnet brush and brush less DC motor technology</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience with feedback control systems, including sizing, testing and integration, design-for-manufacturing, kinematic and dynamic simulation and analysis</p><br><br></li><li><p>Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5</p><br><br></li><li><p>Proven ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower-level work packages and tasks</p><br><br></li><li><p>Proficient in generating free body diagrams</p><br><br></li><li><p>Proficient in Engineering processes and procedures</p><br><br></li><li><p>Moderate 3D modeling skills with a prominent commercial software package</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation</p><br><br></li><li><p>Experience using Matlab, Simulink, and dSpace</p><br><br></li><li><p>Proven design and manufacturing knowledge in machined parts, injection molded parts, hobbing, broaching, sheet metal fabrication, BLDC motors, wire harnesses/flex harnesses and related components, corrosion resistant steels and aluminum alloys</p><br><br></li></ul><br><p><b>What We Offer</b></p><br><br><p>Our values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world.
