The cardiac sonographer should be able to obtain pertinent clinical information from the patient, refer ring physician, and patient’s record, including cardiac related physical findings and pertinent laboratory data, and to apply the necessary sonographic techniques to obtain comprehensive and diagnostic echocardiographic information.2.5. The cardiac sonographer is required to have a detailed understanding of cardiac and thoracic anatomy, physiology, hemodynamics, embryology, tomographic anatomy, and pathophysiology.
