Role Profile: Corporate Communications Manager Location: Dammam, KSAReporting Structure Reporting to HR Shared Services Director<br><br>Overview This role is entrusted with responsibility to drive, manage, and deliver external and internal communications in accordance with the overall strategic communications plan. Drafting of scripts, speeches, correspondences, and presentation materials to best serve the needs and purpose of internal communications. Plan, conceptualize, propose and implement appropriate delivery channel and feedback mechanism, be it through virtual, digital or otherwise, such as Townhalls, coffee chats, video production, social media platforms such as Viva engage, email, newsletter, events, functions, and so on. Assist as conduit to cascade, promote and disseminate appropriate internal communication from Company to ensure alignment with the strategy, consistent messaging, uphold brand identity, compliance with corporate guidelines such as gifts & sponsorships, foster common culture, identity and engagement, and upkeep positive brand positioning. Serve as a responsive, quality-focused, positive, and trusted partner for communications needs with all internal stakeholders throughout the region.<br><br>External Communications – Public/Media/Customer Relations<br>Manage and support the execution of external communications in accordance with the strategic communications plan, including authority & public relations, social & media relations, executive thought leadership, customer and business partnership, supply chain relations, crisis communications and global responsibility. Ensure alignment with the strategic direction across all the region’s external communications channels to ensure consistent messaging and positive brand positioning. Work collaboratively with internal teams to enhance efforts to generate favourable opinion about our market and positioning in the region, and garner local and regional media attention to bring about market thought leadership, positive brand image and drive business development opportunities. Support management, business leaders and functional leads in:Identifying needs, objectives, and strategies for development of external communications, including but not limited to key speaking opportunities, interviews, social media profiling, events, functions & sponsorships, business development, customer & business partnerships, marketing, branding, corporate social responsibility, crisis communications, and so on. Planning for industry/event speaking and keynote management opportunities, liaison with event organizers on all aspects of logistics, and preparation of the relevant draft and relevant background information. Create thought leadership strategy for awareness in the media ensuring the overarching priorities are adhered to, to deliver a rolling momentum of media coverage and message penetration. The role involves working with the team, optimizing preventive and corrective maintenance programs, to minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of assets.<br>Key Responsibilities:Manage preventive maintenance schedules for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and structural systems on jack-up barges. Plan and supervise corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and breakdown repairs to restore operations in a timely manner. Monitoring and tracking Planned Maintenance System (PMS) of all maintenance activities. Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on recurring issues and implement long-term corrective actions. Ensure maintenance activities comply with Class, Flag State, and international maritime standards (ABS, DNV, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.). Manage certification, inspection, and surveys required by classification societies, flag authorities, and client requirements. Oversee the maintenance and reliability of safety-critical equipment, including firefighting, lifesaving appliances, navigation systems, and dynamic positioning (if applicable). Preparation and supervise dry-docking and major refit/repair projects, including preparation of technical specifications, vendor selection, and on-site supervision. Coordinate with barge captains, chief engineers, port engineers, port captains and operations managers to align maintenance schedules with project execution and minimize operational disruptions. Control spare parts and consumables inventory, ensuring critical spares availability while optimizing stock levels and costs. Prepare annual maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide cost forecasts and variance analyses. Review and approve vendor/service provider performance and proposal. Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all maintenance activities, including equipment history, inspection reports, and certification status. Lead, train, and mentor onboard and shore-based maintenance personnel, ensuring technical competency, safety awareness, and compliance with company standards. Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements to maintenance processes. Support emergency response planning and participate in drills, ensuring equipment reliability during critical situations.<br>Minimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, with demonstrated experience serving as a Chief Engineer Minimum 8–10 years of progressively responsible maintenance experience in offshore or marine industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role on jack-up barges Strong technical knowledge of barge systems, including engines, generators, jacking systems, cranes, ballast systems, and auxiliary equipment. Familiarity with classification society requirements, maritime safety/environmental regulations. Demonstrated leadership, project management, and decision-making skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Ability and willingness to travel offshore or to shipyards when required.
