JOB SUMMARY<br>The Assistant Director of Human Resources (ADoHR) assists the Director of Human Resources (DoHR) in the establishment and execution of human resources strategies that serve to attract, retain, and develop diverse premiere talent. The individual’s responsibility is also to manage the daily operations of the Human resources department and ensures total compliances to all hotel’s policies and procedures.<br>THE ROLE Provide inspirational leadership with a clear vision and direction to team members to ensure delivery of the Capella brand values and vision, to create an amazing experience for all guests and colleagues. Assists the DoHR in overseeing and managing all aspects of the Human Resources department and ensure that all colleagues adhere strictly to all policies and standard operating procedures set by the hotel and Corporate office Ensures open positions are advertised in appropriate venues to attract a diverse candidate pool. Ensures the open position listing is in a visible location for both internal and external candidates. Works with local authorities to establish and maintain contact with external recruitment sources. Networks with local organization and peers to source candidates for current or future openings (e.g., Hotel Associations, HR Clubs, University Professors). Facilitates interdepartmental transfers and promotions and transfers or promotions to other properties within this property brand. Oversees the selection and offer processes for hourly colleague s to ensure proper procedures are followed (e.g., valid reasons for selection/non-selection are documented, applicants receive status notifications). Partners with department managers and recruiting professionals to recruit management positions, make hiring decisions and negotiate job offers in accordance with SOPs. Ensures strict compliance with key policies (e.g., Sexual Harassment, Non-Harassment, Non-Discrimination, No Solicitation). Ensures interviews are conducted according to recommended guidelines, consistent screening criteria is used, and only job-related questions are asked. Ensures wages are paid in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Thai laws. (e.g., wages limited to maximum rate of pay, minimum wage requirements, entry-level rates paid to new hires, overtime provisions in place, separation pay, etc.). Ensures medical and background checks are completed in accordance with brand's Standard Operating Procedures. Manages Workers Compensation claims to ensure appropriate colleague care and costs management. Educates colleagues on benefits package. Educates HR team on the various types of benefits available and eligibility requirements. Provides an overview of colleague benefits to the management team enabling them to educate their colleague s and answer routine questions. Ensures that department has the available resources on hand to administer colleague benefits. Assists in identifying key drivers of colleague satisfaction and supports managers in addressing issues with written plans and actions. Monitor performances team members and provide effective performance feedback for improvements, recognition and performance appraisal as due. Provide effective performance feedback through team member recognition, rewards, and disciplinary action, with the assistance of Human Resources, when necessary. Take ownership of individual’s growth and be involved in career progression and succession planning of team members. Coach and train team members in all colleague related human resource information. Handling complaints and resolving colleagues’ disciplinary matters. Keep a record under the appropriate system and ensures that the matters are resolved in a timely manner and with ultimate professionalism. Maintain an image of professional senior management to all guests, team members and the hotel. Perform all duties with discretion, professionalism and a pleasant demeanor. Coaches managers on progressive discipline process. Ensures all development plans of the individual departments and overall property management are in place (e.g., goals documented, progress towards goal achievement is measured) Utilizes an “open door” policy to address colleague problems or concerns in a timely manner. Ensures effective colleague communication channels are established and active. Analyzes accident trends and reports these trends to the management team. Monitors work environment for signs of union organization.
