As a Chief Accountant, you will need to:<br>Financial Operations & Reporting Support the Finance Manager in overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with IFRS, company policies, and hospitality accounting standards. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities, ensuring all deadlines are achieved. Review journal entries, accruals, amortizations, and adjustments to ensure accuracy before posting. Monitor the integrity of the general ledger and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.<br>Financial Controls & Compliance Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Review monthly account reconciliations, including bank, balance sheet, intercompany, and clearing accounts, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items. Support VAT, tax, statutory reporting, and other regulatory compliance requirements. Coordinate with internal and external auditors by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit inquiries.<br>Accounts Payable, Receivable & Cash Management Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities to ensure timely processing of invoices, collections, and payments. Review supplier payments, employee reimbursements, petty cash, and expense claims for compliance with company policies. Monitor cash flow requirements and support daily treasury and banking activities. Assist in managing working capital by monitoring receivables, payables, and cash balances.<br>Budgeting & Financial Analysis Support the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in collaboration with department heads. Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions. Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and KPI analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making. Assist in identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency and optimize costs.<br>Operational Finance Support Partner with operational departments to ensure financial policies and procedures are consistently followed. Provide financial guidance to department heads on budgeting, purchasing, inventory control, and cost management. Support inventory counts, asset verification, and stock reconciliations as required. Assist with financial system enhancements, process improvements, and implementation of finance-related projects.<br>Team Leadership & Development Supervise and support members of the Finance team, providing coaching, training, and guidance to ensure high performance. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented, and compliance-driven working environment. Act on behalf of the Finance Manager during periods of absence, ensuring continuity of finance operations.<br>Ad Hoc Duties Support hotel openings, operational transitions, and special finance projects as assigned. Perform additional responsibilities and cross-functional initiatives as directed by the Finance Manager or Corporate Finance leadership.<br><br>Key Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional accounting certification (e.g., SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, ACA, or CA) is preferred. Minimum of 5–7 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or Assistant Finance Manager role within the hospitality industry. Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or internationally branded hospitality companies is highly desirable. Experience in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is an advantage. Strong knowledge of IFRS, budgeting, financial reporting, month-end closing, and internal controls. Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, cash management, and financial analysis. Good understanding of Saudi Arabian VAT, Zakat (where applicable), and statutory reporting requirements. Proficiency in ERP and hospitality finance systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Sun Systems, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Experience with Oracle OPERA PMS is an advantage. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare management reports. Plan and conduct regular stock counts and inventory checks to ensure stock records are accurate. Ensure stock is clearly organized and easily accessible when required.<br>Receiving & Inspection of Deliveries Oversee the receiving of deliveries and check goods against purchase orders, delivery notes, and supporting documentation. Verify the quantity and general condition of received goods. Report any shortages, damages, discrepancies, or expired items to the Purchasing Manager or Chief Accountant and follow up with suppliers as required. Ensure all received goods are properly documented and recorded according to company procedures. Safely move and store received items in their designated locations.<br>Stock Issuance & Distribution Control the issuance and distribution of goods to various departments based on approved requisitions. Ensure requested items are issued in the correct quantity and within the required timeframe. Maintain proper documentation for all stock issued, returned, or transferred. Ensure the timely fulfilment of departmental stock requirements. Ensure all stock movements are accurately recorded for inventory control purposes.<br>Stock Rotation & Waste Minimization Implement and enforce proper stock rotation procedures, including FIFO (First In, First Out) and other applicable inventory practices. Monitor perishable and non-perishable goods to minimize spoilage and unnecessary waste. Identify and report slow-moving, excess, damaged, or expired inventory. Oversee the proper handling and disposal of damaged or expired goods in accordance with company procedures.<br>Documentation & Record Keeping Maintain accurate and organized records of stock receipts, issues, returns, and inventory movements. Update inventory records and prepare supporting documentation for all stock transactions. Coordinate periodic inventory counts, reconciliations, and audits with the Finance team. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and filed in accordance with company policies and Finance procedures. Investigate inventory discrepancies and resolve stock-related issues, escalating where necessary.<br>Housekeeping, Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized storeroom at all times. Ensure goods are stored safely and appropriately to prevent accidents, damage, or contamination. Follow all company health, safety, hygiene, and security procedures. Maintain appropriate housekeeping standards within all storage areas. Minimum two to three years' experience in a storeroom, warehouse, inventory, or receiving role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment. Solid working knowledge of inventory control, stock handling, and receiving procedures. Previous experience supervising or coordinating a small storeroom team is an advantage. Working knowledge of inventory or ERP systems (e.g., Materials Control, SAP, or similar). Since 2005, we have partnered with clients across the Middle East, Africa and Asia to support complex infrastructure that powers communities and sustains economies.<br>Marafiq Red Sea Project The Red Sea Utilities Multi-Utilities Project is a landmark greenfield initiative developed by ACWA Power in partnership with Red Sea Global, supporting Saudi Arabia’s premier tourism destination along the Red Sea coast. Under a 25-year Utilities Concession Agreement, ACWA Power is responsible for the development, construction, operation, and eventual transfer of a fully integrated, off-grid utilities infrastructure. The project includes a 340 MWac solar PV plant combined with one of the world’s largest captive-scale battery energy storage systems (1,000–1,200 MWh), enabling 24/7 clean energy supply. In addition to renewable power, the scope covers seawater desalination (up to 32,500 m³/day), wetlands-based sewage treatment (16,000 m³/day), district cooling (32,500 RT), and zero-landfill waste management (~11,775 t/year). With financial close reached in early 2022, backed by international and local lenders and supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the project represents a pioneering model of sustainable infrastructure aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the Red Sea destination masterplan.<br>REPORTS TO: Plant General Manager<br>JOB PURPOSE: To manage and oversee the operations and maintenance of solid waste management and sewage treatment systems within the facility/plant. The role ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant handling, treatment, and disposal of solid waste and wastewater in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.<br>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Operations Management Oversee daily operations of solid waste collection, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal. Manage sewage treatment plant (STP) operations including biological, chemical, and mechanical processes. Ensure uninterrupted operation of pumps, aeration systems, clarifiers, sludge handling, and treatment units. Monitor plant performance parameters (BOD, COD, TSS, p H, etc.) and ensure compliance with discharge standards. Optimize waste handling and sewage treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational cost.2. Maintenance Oversight Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for waste and sewage systems. Ensure reliability of mechanical, electrical, and control components. Coordinate shutdowns, emergency repairs, and system upgrades. Manage spare parts and inventory control.3. Environmental & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and discharge permits. Maintain environmental documentation, reporting, and audit records. The role ensures assets are effectively maintained, operated, and optimized to support community needs while delivering long-term value for the asset owner.<br>Job Responsibilities Oversee the operational and financial performance of a portfolio of civic assets, with a key focus on healthcare & education Monitor asset performance indicators such as occupancy/utilization levels, service delivery standards, operational efficiency, lifecycle costs and operator performance. Develop and execute annual asset management and business plans aligned with ownership objectives. Conduct regular performance reviews with facility operators. Ensure assets are maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, regulatory standards, and operational best practices. Policies, Systems, Processes, Procedures, Standards and Reports Oversee the smooth handover of new assets from the project delivery team into operational management. Verify and secure all required documentation, warranties, asset registers, and maintenance plans during handover. Manage outsourced operations contracts, ensuring operators deliver services as per agreed KPIs, SLAs, and performance standards. Review operator reports, track performance, and ensure timely rectification of operational and maintenance issues. Prepare and manage annual operations and maintenance (O&M) budgets, including monitoring expenditures and approving invoices. Implement and maintain asset management policies, systems, processes, and standards across the civic asset portfolio. Ensure operators operate in line with approved procedures and reporting frameworks including all necessary authority requirements Maintain accurate asset data, lifecycle records, and performance reports to support asset management decision-making. Act as the main point of contact between operators, and internal stakeholders. Provide regular updates to senior leadership on asset performance, risks, lifecycle planning, and financial status. Safety, Quality & Environment Ensure all operators comply with company policies, health & safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Monitor compliance with applicable healthcare, education, and public safety regulations where relevant Review audit findings and implement corrective actions with contractors. Continuous Improvement Recommend improvements in asset management practices, maintenance strategies, contractor performance, and cost efficiency. Identify opportunities to optimize asset utilization, reliability, and lifecycle performance.
