<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p><b><u>Qualification:</u></b></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering.</li><li>Other engineering disciplines are not preferred.</li></ul><p><b><u>Job Responsibilities:</u></b></p><ul><li>Prepare material take-offs (MTO) based on drawings, BOMs, and client technical documents.</li><li>Calculate material weight and surface area for structural profiles.</li><li>Estimate material costs based on material grade, including connection bolts, anchor bolts, leftover materials, and scrap.</li><li>Estimate production man-hours/ton, production duration, and production costs based on the structure and fabrication requirements.</li><li>Calculate painting material and labour costs or hot-dip galvanizing costs.</li><li>Estimate indirect expenses and administrative overheads.</li><li>Calculate packing and transportation costs.</li><li>Prepare unit cost and total project cost.</li><li>Apply the profit margin, calculate the final unit rates, and total project price.</li><li>Prepare techno-commercial offers covering:</li><li>Scope of work</li><li>Material specifications, including fasteners</li><li>Fabrication and welding procedures</li><li>Inspection and QA/QC requirements</li><li>Material finishing requirements</li><li>Installation procedures</li><li>Commercial terms and pricing</li><li>Exclusions</li><li>Coordinate with other departments, including Sales, Design, Production, Procurement, Planning, and QA/QC.</li><li>Minimum <b>5 years of experience</b> in the <b>steel structure fabrication industry</b>.</li></ul> </div><h2 class="h5">Skills</h2> <div data-jb-field="skills"><p><b><u>Additional Knowledge / Preferred Skills:</u></b></p><ul><li>Preparation of material submittals for client approval.</li><li>Awareness of preparing compliance statements.</li><li>Good knowledge of steel material properties, including chemical and mechanical properties, and material grades according to ASTM, BS/EN, JIS, DIN, and other international standards.</li><li>Knowledge of paint selection and application methods, including fireproofing, heat insulation, and climatic/environmental protection requirements.</li><li>Familiarity with hot-dip galvanizing requirements and international standards such as <b>ASTM A123, ASTM A153/A153M</b>, and related standards.</li><li>Knowledge of production time studies and estimation of fabrication productivity in a steel fabrication plant.</li></ul><p><br></p></div>
