Description<br><br>Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QC Engineer to join the Quality Control Division. Reporting to the QC Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring that all casting and forging products meet internal quality standards and customer specifications through the implementation and maintenance of effective quality control processes. The QC Engineer plays a critical role in minimising defects, improving production efficiency, and ensuring compliance with applicable industry standards and certifications.<br><br>Quality Inspection & Control<br><br>Conduct inspections of castings and forgings in accordance with quality procedures and engineering drawings Drive the QC process across the casting shop in line with organisational procedures and expectations Control non-conforming products within the plant in accordance with the NCR procedure, including internal NCR management Prepare casting Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and product inspection plans for both internal and external requirements to ensure product quality Perform quality inspections on raw materials, in-process components, and finished products Record inspection results and analyse quality data to identify trends and issues Manage day-to-day inspection activities on the casting shop floor Liaise with third-party inspection agencies for inspections and related activities Ensure final product clearance in accordance with quality requirements.<br><br>Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement<br><br>Coordinate with the team on root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive actions Provide quality feedback to support the improvement of production processes.<br><br>Quality System Management<br><br>Maintain and improve quality management systems including ISO 9001 and API Q1Manage customer and third-party audits in coordination with the QA function.<br><br>Inspection Equipment Management<br><br>Manage calibration and maintenance of all inspection equipment Operate equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.<br><br>Requirements<br><br>Education<br><br>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field.<br><br>Experience<br><br>Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the casting or forging industry Experience with API Q1, API 20A, and API 20B standards is essential.<br><br>Technical Skills<br><br>Proficiency in using inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, CMM, and ultrasonic testers Familiarity with quality inspection methods including visual inspection and NDEUnderstanding of metallurgical properties and heat treatment processes Exposure to ASTM, EN, API Q1, API 20A, and API 20B standards related to the casting and forging industry.<br><br>Certifications<br><br>NDE certification to ASNT or ISO 9712 Level IIQMS Internal Auditor certification.<br><br>Behavioral Competencies<br><br>Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability High attention to detail Effective communication skills.
<p>Provide engineering reviews, address operation, advise (directly and indirectly) best practices both in the tender and in the projects to the Project Operation Manager (or delegate) to assist in the achievement of project/tender objectives, according to the plan/procedures developed by the engineering project team</p><p>The Engineer shall ensure compliance with QA/QC&HSE requirements and:</p><ul><li>Review project documentation reporting errors/omissions and suggest improvements considering advices from vessel operations management</li><li>Assist in liaising with Client Representatives/subcontractors</li><li>Assist in monitoring progress of work/site conditions and promptly advise if changes to project schedule/execution sequence may occur</li><li>When onboard support Vessel Management Team in planning/execution of work/project contractual&technical requirements</li><li>Participate to resolution of any technical problems</li><li>Supervise execution of diving, precommissioning, post trenching and hook-up</li><li>Provide operational input/support to onshore project teams</li><li>Liaise with Installation Engineers during preparatory/mobilisation/installation phase</li><li>Review installation procedures/loadout/seafastening plans for material/structures offshore transportation to ensure safe/timely installation</li><li>Ensure completeness of construction materials/consumables lists liaising with Project Coordinator for timely procurement/delivery</li><li>Coordinate with Mobile Equipment, Asset, Piptec, ROV, Trenching, precommissioning, Hook-up to ensure that all necessary personnel/equipment are timely available</li><li>Witness/inspect pre-rigging/loadouts/seafastening activities</li><li>Identify any deviations from procedures and manage as requested</li><li>Coordinate with Fabrication Dept for loadout of fabricated structures/installation aids</li><li>Provide input/feedback for engineering close out report to improve departmental standards/working methods/guidelines</li><li>Lead project planning efficiency optimisation (installation aids re-use, tensioner pad change-outs, equipment mob/demob, ROV tooling consistency)</li><li>Be involved in project HAZIDs/HIRAs and Track of tasks</li><li>Verify that relevant schedules reconcile with present vessel productivity</li><li>Assist with project management specific third-party contractors confirming all technical/operational contractual aspects are observed</li><li>Provide technical assistance to all offshore personnel to permit work is implemented in accordance with approved procedure and Company s minimum standard</li><li>Provide all necessary technical briefings to offshore personnel ensuring that overall project working/safety philosophy is fully understood by all personnel</li><li>Assist vessels mobilisation/demobilisation to ensure that all equipment is handled in correct manner and everyone involved is aware of all safety/technical aspects of operation</li><li>Note any contractual variations during project ensuring all necessary documentation is in place to support commercial claims disputed upon project completion and manage as requested</li><li>Verify that procedures are correct and most efficient/cost effective solutions are followed</li><li>Take part in most critical phases on board installation vessel/preparation yard</li><li>Confront with the vessel for all most critical subject to assure a correct transfer from engineering to installation</li><li>Distinguish rapidly missing points/optimisation of equipment used on board/in yards</li><li>Prepare/record/participate in completion of feedback reporting (Lessons learnt, Offshore debriefs, end of project reporting)</li><li>Promote/organise meetings for risk evaluation/revision of procedures with vessel management, ensuring that all work is carried safely and in accordance with HSE policies/procedures</li><li>Actively participate in Job Safety analysis/Risk Assessments and ensure all findings/recommendations are implemented</li><li>Review Daily progress reports</li><li>Provide technical support to commercial department</li><li>Coordinate/consolidate all inputs from multiple disciplines (Operations, Asset, Engineering) to support development of commercial proposal</li><li>Be involved in preparing installation vessels standard methods</li><li>Assist, guide and train junior engineer</li></ul><p>Start date is as soon as possible.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Master's Degree/bachelor's degree in: Engineering (preferred)</p><p>English Language skills required</p><p>Experienced in vessel mobilization, offshore installation, heavy lifting</p>
