Fabrication section in the event fabrication workshop, ensuring that scenic elements, structures, custom<br>
displays, and related furniture are fabricated efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. This hands-<br>
on role involves leading a team of steel fabricators and welders, acting as the primary link between the<br>
Production Managers/Designers and the workshop floor.<br>
<br>
<strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br>
1. <strong>Team Leadership & Supervision</strong><br>
• Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing workshop team to meet tight event deadlines.<br>
• Allocate daily tasks to team members based on project schedules and skill levels.<br>
• Provide training and support to staff, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures<br>
(SOPs).<br>
• Run daily, short "toolbox talks" or stand-up meetings to discuss project status, safety, and goals.<br>

2. <strong>Production & Operational Efficiency</strong><br>
• Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and engineering<br>
specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.<br>
• Fabrication & Assembly: Cut, shape, weld, and perform grinding and finishing to ensure smooth,<br>
aesthetically pleasing, or paint-ready finishes for public-facing structures and steel custom<br>
structures, rigging frames, scenic elements, support structures using MIG/TIG welding, grinders,<br>
and plasma cutters.<br>
• Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished components to ensure structural integrity and<br>
compliance with safety standards before they leave the workshop.<br>
• Material Handling: Safely operate workshop machinery (brake presses, shears, drills) and material<br>
handling equipment (forklifts, overhead cranes).<br>
• Coordination: Coordinate workshop workflow to optimize production, reducing waste and<br>
downtime.<br>
• Collaboration: Coordinate with on-site installation teams to ensure components fit together<br>
seamlessly and to update them on progress, potential delays, material issues, and sometimes lead<br>
on-site installation or load-in/out during high-pressure times.<br>
• Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform routine maintenance on tools<br>
and machinery.<br>

3. <strong>Quality Control & Safety</strong><br>
• Enforce strict health and safety rules, including wearing PPE and maintaining the workspace.<br>
• Inspect finished products and assemblies for defects, ensuring they meet client specifications<br>
before leaving the workshop.<br>
• Identify and resolve technical fabrication issues early to prevent delays.<br>
4. <strong>Material & Resource Management</strong><br>
• Manage raw materials inventory and coordinate with purchasing for necessary items.<br>

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in reading technical drawings and metal metalworking for<br>
scenic construction, exhibit fabrication, or a similar high-paced workshop environment.<br>

• Software: Basic knowledge of ERP systems or inventory software is a plus, along with Microsoft<br>
Office/Excel for reporting.<br>
