The HYCO Shift Supervisor will manage the day-to-day shift operations which include daily customer production meetings, insuring daily operational targets are achieved, interfacing with the Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the site. The HYCO Shift Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the Operations staff is properly trained to support the operations in addition to the incumbent execute daily tasks which include preparing and implementing safety work permits, LOTO, complete operations preventative maintenance activities, and assist the maintenance and engineering teams in preparing and executing corrective maintenance activities. This position is an extension of the operating team and is expected to engage in all plant operations and ensure tasks performed safely.<br><br>Safety<br><br>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br><br>Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.<br><br>Technical<br><br>Provide direction to the staff of the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment as prescribed by the Work Instruction Procedures. Operate the unit when required. Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Engineering and Maintenance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities. Provide Operations support, guidance & lead the team during the startups, shutdowns and emergencies of the plants. Maintain accurate document control and monitor quality assurance initiatives. Provide Operations guidance to ensure safety, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Provide Operations input for scheduled outages to ensure contractual requirements are achieved Manage plant production efficiently based on data driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met to achieve maximum profitable. Work closely with Shift Team, Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Team and Engineering team to ensure production targets are achieved in his shift, plant running at optimum energy efficiency and safely.<br><br>Operations<br><br>Ensure the safety of all operations personnel by utilizing the APQ Basic Safety Practice program, which includes Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc. The position facilitates planning, organizing, auditing, and follow-up, to build the Air Products safety culture into the APQ. Ensure all Environmental Regulatory requirements are met. Ensure compliance to all CM, PM tasks. Support and prepare for Shutdown Planning and Turnaround Planning. Ensure Air Products and APQ standards, and global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and overall customer services are met Meet the customer’s satisfaction on safety, reliability, product quality, and flexibility on product supply. Build the plant technical capability through support coordination from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Team and Engineering team. Provide coaching and motivation to the operations team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Develop, train, and promote top performing personnel who achieve success through teams, customer and employee focused, foster open communication, performance driven, and results oriented. Establish & maintain close working relationships with engineering and maintenance personnel to continuously monitor & evaluate plant systems & equipment through a Plant Process Advisory Model. Provide operations support and participate / lead incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Identify & implement sustainable corrective action(s). Act as the Single Point of Contact when dealing with internal issues of the HYCO units, representing APQ and coordinating internal resources. Provide timely progress updates to the customer. Facilitate attainment of operations excellence and customer satisfaction via operations productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, services, continuous improvements, and meeting of budgets. Maintain a relationship with the customer’s counterparts from other Refinery Units where from APQ either receiving Feedstock, Utilities & Power or supplying Hydrogen and Steam to different Refinery Units on a regular basis through Refinery Shift Superintendent to ensure alignment of expectations for APQ and the customers current and future product demand.<br><br>Job Requirements<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations preferred. An associate technical degree (2 year certificate) will be considered based on years of experience and competence. Experience in gas, petrochemical, or related industries in operations, engineering, and/or a maintenance function. Demonstrated HYCO knowledge a plus, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with 4 + years in line supervision of process operations roles. Expectation based on level of experience for the operations team to achieve a ‘Level 1 / Board Level’ status within 2 – 4 years. Operators will be evaluated during the training period and placed at the level of competence accordingly. All the operations team are considered field and board operators when Level 1 is achieved. Leadership positions are expected to follow the progression process. The HYCO Operations Supervisor is an extension of the operating team and is expected to engage in plant operations when required. Proven coordination experience in a multi team environment which includes operations, engineering, and maintenance. Good leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization and externally. Saudi Power Sector – End-User Development Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with key stakeholders across Saudi Arabia's Power sector, including organizations involved in:Conventional power generation Combined cycle power plants Independent Power Projects (IPPs) Cogeneration Power plants Renewable and energy infrastructure Power and water integrated facilities Power plant operation and maintenance Balance-of-plant systems and associated utilities Build relationships with engineering, projects, procurement, operations, maintenance, and vendor qualification departments. Identify greenfield projects, brownfield expansions, plant upgrades, replacement programs, shutdown requirements, and recurring MRO opportunities. EPC Contractor Relationships & Project Pursuit Develop and maintain strong relationships with Saudi and international EPC contractors executing Power and Water projects in the Kingdom, particularly with engineering, procurement, project management, and commercial teams. Lead EPC project pursuit from early identification and specification through RFQ, technical/commercial negotiation, and award. Track major projects, EPC bidders, consultants, specifications, valve packages, competitors, decision-makers, and project schedules. Coordinate with Neway factories, Engineering, Inside Sales, and Quality to develop competitive technical and commercial proposals and secure project-specific approvals.4. Engineering Consultant Relationships Develop strong relationships with engineering consultants, FEED contractors, PMCs, owner's engineers, and design houses active in Saudi Power and Water projects. Engage during concept, FEED, specification, and detailed engineering stages to position Neway products and secure inclusion in project specifications and approved vendor lists. Conduct technical presentations and work with consultants to demonstrate compliance with project specifications, international standards, and end-user requirements.5. Vendor Registration & End-User Approvals Lead vendor registration, manufacturer qualification, product approval, and Approved Vendor List (AVL) inclusion with key Saudi Power and Water end users. Build relationships with vendor registration, engineering, quality, procurement, and technical approval teams and actively follow approvals through completion. Coordinate technical submissions, factory audits, certifications, reference lists, testing, and other qualification requirements with Neway factories, Engineering, and Quality. Support resolution of technical, quality, delivery, documentation, and commercial issues affecting strategic customers. Minimum 10 years of relevant sales/business development experience, with substantial exposure to Saudi Arabia's Power and/or Water sectors. Proven track record of EPC project pursuit, preferably from early project identification and specification through RFQ, negotiation, and order award. Ability to understand valve specifications, datasheets, material requirements, international standards, and project documentation. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with experience handling significant project values. Ability to develop relationships at multiple levels, from engineers and procurement personnel to senior management. Strong understanding of the Saudi business environment and project-sales cycle. Fluent English required; Arabic is highly desirable. Willingness to travel extensively throughout Saudi Arabia and internationally when required.
