POSITION SUMMARYThis position will be part of NGHC (Neom Green Hydrogen Company) Operations based in Neom The Principal Process Safety Engineer is the technical cornerstone to the NGHC safety culture, where safety is in our DNA. This role manages the distinct high pressure and extreme flammability hazards of green hydrogen and the toxicity hazards of green ammonia among the process operating complexities of the plant. The role is responsible to lead all safety initiatives relative to the industrial processes on behalf of NGHC, facilitating the application of engineering principles for the design, construction, operation and maintenance on the NEOM Green Hydrogen Company, with the objective to develop, implement and maintain the Process Safety Management System for the company. The incumbent shall support all interface activities between all project contractors and NGHC as needed to support all Process Safety deliverables. NATURE & SCOPE<br>Lead and provide process safety services during the design and construction of all NEOM Green Hydrogen Company projects, including the remaining design and construction of the plant currently underway, ensuring that all related activities meet legal requirements and comply with project and industry safety standards. The Operations Engineer will be responsible for monitoring and controlling the operation of all facility systems and coordinating maintenance-related activities at the Primary Nursery Facility in NEOM. The role will also oversee the delivery of support services, including Janitorial, Horticulture, Pest Control, Waste Management, and Office Services. The Operations Engineer will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electro-mechanical systems, monitor service provider performance, ensure compliance with operational KPIs, resolve customer complaints, and continuously identify opportunities to improve facility performance, energy efficiency, and end-user satisfaction.<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Supervise and coordinate the daily operation of all MEP and electro-mechanical systems at the Primary Nursery Facility. Monitor and control equipment including MCCs, pumps, VFDs, fans, instrumentation, emergency generators, AHUs, chillers, and related systems. Plan operational activities, establish priorities, and coordinate maintenance and project-related works. Conduct regular inspections and monitor system performance to ensure facility readiness, reliability, and compliance with operational requirements. Analyze system performance, operating parameters, alarms, and set points, and implement corrective actions and improvement initiatives. Respond promptly to emergencies, major faults, equipment failures, and operational interruptions. Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), incident investigations, commissioning activities, and the implementation of corrective actions. Manage and monitor contractors and service providers delivering Janitorial, Horticulture, Pest Control, Waste Management, and Office Services. Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving complaints, high-priority tickets, and recurring operational issues while monitoring service delivery against KPIs.<br><br>Requirements<br><br><br>Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 4-6 years of experience in Facility Management, Facility Operations, or a similar role. Proven experience in the operation and monitoring of MEP and electro-mechanical systems. Good knowledge of facility systems and equipment, including MCCs, pumps, VFDs, generators, AHUs, chillers, fans, and instrumentation. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and understand MEP commissioning procedures. Experience in contractor management, service provider coordination, and KPI monitoring. Develop, document, and maintain cybersecurity asset register and other key deliverables as guided by the Site Cybersecurity Lead or Cybersecurity Manager. Organize and lead/facilitate the resolution and implementation of the cybersecurity risk assessment exercises and implement risk assessment recommendations for Air Products design and also for vendor/ skid package control system Support pre‑commissioning and commissioning teams by validating firewall rules, secure remote access, endpoint hardening, Asset inventory validation, Access control execution, and logging before system energization. Lead and oversee architecture, standards and FAT/SAT/CSAT procedures development, execution and performance testing. Ensure the verification and approval of the 3rd party device access needs as requested by the subcontractor and vendors as part of the commissioning and start-up requirements on the vendor packages. Participate in technical coordination meetings with cross-functional teams as guided by the Site Cybersecurity lead. Coordinate with vendors and Air Products engineering team to resolve and liquidate the punch points identified during the field verification of the cyber assets. Coordinate and assist the Site Cybersecurity Lead with the change management activities to ensure design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and startup of cybersecurity scope are reviewed for schedule, and budget compliance. Prepare weekly updates and dashboard to the Site cybersecurity lead and the Project Cybersecurity Collaboration Lead. Identify and escalate risks and opportunities, Collect and report lessons learned during vendor site visits and project execution. Support OT cybersecurity handovers to operations, including procedures, asset inventories, access management, and incident response alignment. Contribute to OT Cybersecurity Operations Model, including monitoring, patching, backup, disaster recovery, and secure remote support.<br><br>Minimum Requirements<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics & communication, (or) instrumentation / process automation background is preferred) or equivalent. Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience in Operational Technology (OT), or related field with at least 3 years focused on designing (or) building (or) validating the design/implementation of the cybersecurity for industrial control systems and networks. Project implementation experience of Saudi cyber standards HCIS, NCA, CRA compliance, ISA 62443 Industry standards, specifications, regulations, best practices. Strong knowledge and understanding of controls systems (SCADA/DCS/PLCs, etc.,), relevant protocols (Modbus, PROFINET, DNP3, IEC61850, etc.), key technologies including Firewalls, IDS, Anti-Virus, Vulnerabilities assessments, etc. in the ICS/OT networks OT/ICS cybersecurity relevant accreditations such as ISA/IEC62443, SANS or other internationally recognized certifications are preferred. Overview The HSE Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on construction sites in Amaala, Saudi Arabia. This role requires full physical presence on-site in Amaala to ensure compliance with regulations and promotes a culture of safety among all team members.<br>Responsibilities:HSE Policy Development:Create and update HSE policies and procedures to align with industry standards and regulations. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies. Training and Awareness:Conduct HSE training sessions for all site personnel to promote safety awareness. Ensure that new employees receive proper HSE orientation. Site Inspections:Maintain continuous on-site presence in Amaala to perform regular site inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with HSE standards. Maintain a comprehensive EPMS issue tracker with owners, target dates, and status updates. Investigate technical issues, determine root causes, and coordinate corrective actions. Verify that all identified issues are resolved and formally closed.<br><br>Technical Support<br><br>Provide technical expertise on EPMS architecture, hardware, software, networking, and system integration. Review configuration settings, alarms, events, reports, dashboards, and monitoring functions. Support troubleshooting of communication issues between EPMS, SCADA, DCS, PLCs, protection relays, meters, and other integrated systems.
