<p>Assisting Ophthalmologists in medical eye care, responsible for administering diagnostic tests on patients, measuring vision, obtaining and updating patient records and maintaining surgical instruments under direct supervision of ophthalmologist or optometrist.</p><p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p><ul><li>Takes patients medical and ocular histories and records all patients examination information.</li><li>Performs the preliminary assessment and record of visual acuity, color vision testing, tonometry, autorefraction, lensometry, schirmer testing, visual field exams, IOL calculation, ocular motility, pupil assessment and refraction.</li><li>Performs automated visual testing and various types of eye photography to include Fluorescein Angiography, Pentacam, OCT, A/B- Scan.</li><li>Properly assist physically or visually disabled patients.</li><li>Serves as a mentor/instructor to ophthalmic staff in patient care and proper use of equipment.</li><li>Prepares exam room for procedures, organizes instruments and equipment as needed; sanitizes equipment, re-stocks medications and supplies (every month).</li><li>Performing measurements and tests (e.g., ultrasonography) for patients under general anesthesia, such as young patients, those with disabilities, or in emergency situations.</li><li>Explaining procedure and instructions to patients.</li><li>Operates, calibrates and maintains ophthalmic instruments and equipment as designated under direct supervision of ophthalmologist or optometrist.</li><li>Handles basic telephone triage.</li><li>Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.</li><li>Other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirements of the job.</li></ul><p>All Fakeeh Care employees are responsible for continuous improvement, including:</p><ul><li>Performing all duties and tasks in a manner that supports Fakeeh s Person-Centered care values.</li><li>Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, within the scope of the role.</li><li>Adherence to safety protocols and proactively seeking to address any job-related safety concerns.</li><li>Maintaining strict confidentiality of all sensitive information accessed or encountered during work.</li><li>Complying with cybersecurity policies and standards to protect Fakeeh s systems and participating in awareness training and initiatives to prevent cyber threats.</li><li>Adhering to and upholding Fakeeh Care s code of conduct, policies and ethical standards.</li><li>Completion of mandatory education as per the requirement, at least one month prior to expiration.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><p>Skills and Abilities:</p><ul><li>Computers skills.</li><li>Problem solver with analytical skills.</li><li>Well-organized with attention to detail.</li></ul><p>Experience:</p><ul><li>Minimum of 2 years of experience as Ophthalmology Technician</li></ul><p>Education :</p><ul><li>High school diploma, Graduated from a (Committee on Accreditation for Ophthalmic Medical Personnel (CoA-OMP), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Ophthalmic Technicians program is preferred.</li><li>Or completion of AAO Ophthalmic medical assistant independent study coarse</li></ul><p>Language:</p><ul><li>Fluency in both spoken and written English is essential.</li><li>Arabic is desirable</li></ul><p>Licenses / Certifications:</p><ul><li>SCFHS Certificate, BLS and Certification by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology is preferred at the COA, COT or COMT level.</li></ul>
