JOB PURPOSE<br>The E&S engineer will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring environmental and social compliance during the construction phase of projects. This includes implementing and monitoring environmental and social management plans, conducting inspections and audits, compliance checks and assessing project adherence to relevant regulations and standards. This role requires a proactive and hands-on approach to implementing and monitoring Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMP) and associated ESIAs, ESAPs, CESMPs and conducting audits and inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulatory, corporate, and lenders' standards. This position will also serve as a key coordination point for internal teams and external stakeholders (Especially local environmental regulatory bodies e.g. MoE, MEWA, NCEC, NCW, NCVC, MWAN, RC and others) to ensure all E&S requirements are integrated into project activities. Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action. Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual / QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments. Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required. Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events. Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines.
