Reimagine What’s Possible  Purpose The Senior Process Engineer – HYCO provides senior-level technical leadership for ongoing plant operations and projects—from concept development through commissioning and start-up—and leads asset management and productivity initiatives across all BHIG operating facilities in the Region. The role coordinates technical activities between site-based engineers and operations teams, mentors junior process engineers, and ensures safe, reliable, efficient and cost-effective production of hydrogen, syngas, CO and CO₂. Nature & Scope Reporting to the BHIG Engineering Manager, the Senior Process Engineer – HYCO provides day-to-day operational and technical support to Regional Sites through systematic monitoring of plant performance to ensure that production, energy efficiency, and reliability targets are consistently achieved in a safe manner. As a senior technical authority, the incumbent acts as a subject-matter expert (SME) on HYCO process technology and mentors site-based process engineers. The role identifies productivity opportunities, develops engineering solutions, and supports the project execution teams across multiple technologies: Air Separation Units (ASU), Hydrogen / Syngas (HYCO – SMR based), and CO₂ production. The incumbent may also support Air Products plant support teams in providing similar services to JV partners, equipment sales customers and new prospects. This position interfaces with Air Products global, regional and local process / production engineers, Regional Operations team members, project and design engineering teams, process safety specialists, and other technical support personnel. The role helps implement the systems and measures required to meet BHIG's Middle East operational requirements, technical standards, quality processes and plant & equipment integrity programs. The incumbent will coordinate and effectively utilize global operating and technical resources to support existing operations, new installations and modifications led by BHIG Project Engineering or by the Air Products Global Engineering & Manufacturing Organization. The position will help drive consistency in operations across the Middle East Region and contribute to the continuous improvement of productivity, reliability, quality, process safety, and cost-effectiveness of the plants—using BHIG and Air Products systems, tools, statistical techniques and Continuous Improvement methodologies. Developing and tracking plant performance and reliability KPIs is an integral part of the role. Principal Accountabilities Safety Provide and maintain a safe work environment for self and others; demonstrate visible safety leadership. Participate in meetings with government departments responsible for safety, environmental, fire protection and public security oversight, and ensure timely implementation of applicable requirements within BHIG. Support is delivered through site visits, remote phone / video support, or via the Process Intelligence Center (PIC). Ensure all activities comply with legal requirements, BHIG safety and technical standards. Provide technical support and safety leadership for Management of Change (MOC), Operational/Process Hazard Reviews (OPHR), PHA / HAZOP, LOPA and other process safety related initiatives in order to drive PSM compliance. Consult BHIG and Air Products process safety specialists as required. Provide process engineering leadership to drive asset performance, reduce operating costs and increase plant throughput by supporting: troubleshooting, plant efficiency studies, process safety, equipment reliability, advanced process control (APC), asset management, and productivity project identification, development and execution. Apply process statistics and data analytics (control charts, regression, capability analysis, multivariate analysis) to detect performance drift, quantify variability, prioritize improvement opportunities and validate the impact of implemented changes. Develop, maintain and validate steady-state and dynamic process simulation models in Aspen Plus (and associated Aspen suite tools) to support troubleshooting, performance benchmarking, debottlenecking, what-if studies, energy optimization, and revamp / new project evaluations. Provide expert technical support on heterogeneous catalyst systems used in HYCO / Hydrogen plants—including Hydrodesulfurization (HDS), ZnO sulfur absorbers, Pre-Reforming, Steam Methane Reforming (SMR), High-Temperature Shift (HTS), Low-Temperature Shift (LTS) and Methanation—covering activity / deactivation assessment, kinetic and equilibrium evaluation, poison management, life-cycle prediction, change-out strategy, vendor selection and performance auditing. Facilitate operational excellence through continuous improvement in plant productivity, reliability, quality and cost; lead improvements and ensure that best practices are deployed. Provide technical leadership in investigations and Root Cause Analyses (RCA) in order to identify and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions. Provide technical support for Advanced Process Control (APC) and real-time optimization (RTO) initiatives. Monitor plant production daily, driving asset performance and ensuring daily targets are met to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Operations Provide process engineering support to operations in order to safely and reliably operate, SMR-based HYCO and CO₂ facilities in the Region, meeting customer expectations on safety, reliability, product quality and supply flexibility while remaining compliant with contractual requirements. Ensure that BHIG standards and Air Products global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality and customer service are met. REPORTS TO: Plant General Manager JOB PURPOSE: To provide overall direction to the plant teams and lead all the activities within the plant to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operations of the plant, optimum utilization of resources and delivery of uninterrupted supply of Power / Water in accordance with the defined standards, whilst fulfilling all contractual obligations in order to maximize revenue KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Strategy & Plans:Develop the plant strategy in line with NOMAC’s Operations and Maintenance strategy to ensure vertical alignment and horizontal integration with other interfacing departmental strategies across. Regularly report to the Manager on the operational and maintenance activities of the plant, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to keep them informed and updated on the plant’s activities. Prepare board presentations that include financial figures, plant warranty issue and operational and manpower issues etc., in order to keep them up to date of all statistics and records relevant to the plant. People Management:Manage and monitor the performance of direct and indirect reports, defining workforce requirements and recruiting, in conjunction with the Human Resources function, to ensure competent, qualified and highly motivated employees are available to enable the achievement of the plant objectives. Manage the effective achievement of the team’s objectives through setting individual objectives, developing the team and providing formal and informal feedback to maximise overall performance, engagement and motivation. Manage and provide overall direction and guidance on talent development initiatives to mentor, coach and challenge subordinates providing opportunities for growth and development to ensure continuous progression and a high level of competence within the team. Financial Management:Develop the Plant’s Operating budget and manage and monitor the financial performance against the budget on a regular basis, so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon. Understand the financial metrics /costs/ contractual obligations of the project, to ensure the achievement of the revenue, costs, profitability and productivity targets. Production Planning:Lead and ensure the effective cascading of the operational strategy and plans into mid to short terms production plans and monitor their performance against the target to ensure optimization of resource utilization, plant availability and operating efficiency of the plant, whilst achieving the defined production targets. Operation and Maintenance:Provide overall direction to plant operations and maintenance teams to meet approved production objectives while providing technical guidance and expertise to ensure timely resolution of issues and recommend changes to approved procedures considering technological developments and changing business conditions. Plan and direct for minor and major changes within the plant and its respective processes to ensure a safe working environment while also maintaining plant efficiency levels, as per the approved procedures. Have a thorough understanding of the contractual obligations and clauses with the Project Company and ensure that they are continuously met at all times. Technical Guidance:Direct the teams on operations and maintenance strategies and oversee the root cause analysis and investigations in order to correct any abnormal conditions and resolve performance deficiencies Provide guidance to direct subordinates on potential risk areas in order to improve the long-term reliability of the plant. Supply Chain:Identify, establish and monitor IMS objectives, targets and programs in the plant, through the adaptation and implementation of the policies and procedures and preparation and readiness for appropriate IMS Certifications, in order to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, existing policies and procedures of the company. Oversee and provide all possible assistance during the IMS audits (conducted internally or by external agencies) and work on the recommendations provided by them in order to effectively implement corrective actions. SAP Implementation:Provide overall guidance and ensure the effective implementation of SAP processes within the plants and adherence to SAP guidelines in all aspects of production planning, scheduling, order processing, material movement etc. in order to ensure system/data integrity in line with defined standards. Integrated Management System Implementation:Identify, establish and monitor IMS objectives, targets and programs in the plant, through the adaptation and implementation of the policies and procedures and preparation and readiness for appropriate IMS Certifications, in order to ensure compliance to applicable Standards, existing policies and procedures of the company. Oversee and provide all possible assistance during the IMS audits (conducted internally or by external agencies) and work on the recommendations provided by them in order to effectively implement corrective actions. Health, Safety, Security & Environment:Ensure compliance to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the plant to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude. Relationship Management:Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal & external entities (such as Project Company, Board, shareholders, OEM contractors, local authorities etc.) with the highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure seamless business operations. Reporting:Ensure that all plant reports are prepared in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner, and delivered to the Project Company as per contractual obligations. Direct and provide guidance on the preparation of periodical statements and progress reports to keep the senior management informed about the progress of various initiatives and to facilitate decision making. Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures:Develop and ensure the implementation of Operation’s department work instructions, policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of department activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service. Continuous Improvement:Oversee the implementation of effective and economical methods and techniques in order to identify improvements and/or new technological changes to advance operating methods within the plant. Identify opportunities of improvement and contribute to organisational and departmental change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practice and standards in the business environment. Description JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE Responsible for the overall construction and system integration of Living Quarters and Helideck. To provide onsite coordination for all phases of work, including planning of materials, workers/ subcontractors’ allocation and detailed scheduling as per project requirements. To do clash studies with Project and Engineering team prior to safe installation onboard. Participate in the creation of project schedules with the Construction Manager. Plan and coordinate material procurement by discussing/ engaging all stakeholders involved, in phases as per construction requirements. Coordination with external vendors for timely delivery of equipment where necessary. Execute and coordinate day to day operations on construction activities in accordance with project schedule and budget. Provide progress reporting and schedule management on Construction deliverables. Implement, monitor, and drive the project schedule. Promptly notify management team of schedule and performance issues, be proactive in anticipating potential problems that may impact the project performance. Have weekly schedule coordination meetings with all subcontractor foremen to outline requirements of work completion, and other issues as may be required including but not limited to manpower requirements, interference coordination, inspections, and sequence of work. Distribute three-week look ahead schedules and communicate schedule requirements with all subcontractors. Fully responsible for delivery of all Inspection Test Records (ITR’s) under the relevant discipline by effectively delegating to the foreman and chargehands. This must be approached with a high focus on interfacing and coordination with all other discipline supervision to remove all blocks from achieving target dates.
