Summary<p>Leads and coordinates activities of the Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants. Performs a variety of laboratory testing and related tasks. Operates automated testing equipment. Performs routine procedural steps of laboratory tests.</p><br><br>Essential Responsibilities and Duties<br><p>1. Monitors and resolves problems related to specimen processes and activities of the Laboratory Technicians and Laboratory Assistants. </p><br><br><p>2. Receives sorts and accessions lab specimens in ICIS and processes them by manual and automated methods and contacts phlebotomists, nurses, and doctors as required to solve specimen-related problems. </p><br><br><p>3. Views activities orders in ICIS and prints both collection and aliquot labels. </p><br><br><p>4. Performs separate procedural steps of less complex laboratory testing procedures to obtain results for diagnosis of patient diseases. </p><br><br><p>5. Operates automated testing and diagnostic equipment in accordance with accepted and established procedures. </p><br><br><p>6. Prepares specimens for observation and analysis by other laboratory staff members. </p><br><br><p>7. Identifies and labels all specimens to be retained and files them for later reference. </p><br><br><p>8. Assists in training new laboratory technicians and trainees. </p><br><br><p>9. Inventories and requests of biweekly supplies (warehouse and pre-analytical machines supplies) andarranges monthly staff schedule with the senior and supervisor. </p><br><br><p>10. This role is responsible for detecting and recovering FWA payments for non-network claims, creating solutions to prevent claims overpayment and future spend monitoring within a dedicated region.
