<p><strong>Job Purpose / Objective </strong></p><br>
<p>Responsible for routine and basic technical tasks in CSSD with strict adherence to JCIA/ CBAHI Standards including documentation, sterilization, packaging, storage and distribution of sterile items as well as receiving all contaminated used items from the assigned areas.</p><br>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities </strong></p><br>
<ul>
<li>Receives all used contaminated items from different assigned areas.</li>
<li>Decontaminate the received items manually and mechanically by using ultrasonic cleaner/ automated cart washers.</li>
<li>Label the prepared package using proper labeling technique.</li>
<li>Load and unloading sterilizers properly.</li>
<li>Adhere to infection control requirements by using PPE.</li>
<li>Assemble and packing instrument-sets using proper packaging material and technique.</li>
<li>Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of asepsis principles in all stages of processing.</li>
<li>Store the sterilized sets/ items properly until needed.</li>
<li>Demonstrate an understanding of quality control by using chemical indicator.</li>
<li>Perform disinfecting process as needed and as per the policy and procedure.</li>
<li>Transport and delivering the sterile packages to the units in proper way.</li>
<li>Perform the daily testing of sterilizer (warm-up cycle, Bowie and Dick test, Spore test and leak test.)</li>
<li>Perform all delegated tasks assigned by the Supervisor with scope of competency.</li>
<li>Mentor and precepting the new staff.</li>
<li>Participates in conducting education and training sessions.</li>
<li>Acts up for CSSD Supervisor during absence.</li>
