Purpose of the Job:The Risk and Controls Manager establishes and maintains a strong internal control framework across the organization, with a focus on financial processes and operational risks. The role ensures financial practices comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices, while identifying and mitigating risks that could affect operational and financial performance.<br>Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and continuously improve the organization’s risk management and internal control framework. Collaborate with finance and operational teams to embed control mechanisms into standard business processes. Monitor compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and international financial reporting standards. Support and coordinate internal and external audit activities, ensuring timely resolution of findings and recommendations. Prepare clear and concise risk and control reporting for senior leadership and the Audit Committee. Lead the rollout of control-related training and awareness programs across departments. Act as a subject matter expert for SOX (if applicable) or other governance frameworks adopted by the company. Support the digitalization of control processes and champion automation where feasible. Own or contribute to departmental improvement projects, including the Guest Auditor Program, Argus AI tool, and Centers of Excellence Program. Apply creative thinking and critical analysis to ensure projects support the company’s transformation strategy.<br>Qualifications & Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA) preferred.5–10 years of relevant experience in internal controls, risk management, internal audit, or compliance. The candidate should actively monitor document workflows, follow up on pending actions, and support continuous improvement in document formation, quality, coordination, and information organization across project activities.<br><br>Manage all incoming and outgoing project documentation including transmittals, RFIs, reports, technical submissions, and correspondence. Perform document management activities within Share Point, PMIS, and shared project repositories while maintaining organized folder structures aligned with BDC standards. Supporting the preparation and compilation of documents from draft or partially developed inputs and ensure submitted documents meet required quality and submission standards. Perform quality checks on project deliverables before submission to ensure completeness, correct formatting, proper page numbering, grammar accuracy, and compliance with approved templates. Proactively follow up with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders on pending submissions, overdue responses, and incomplete documentation. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Development Controls Manager to lead portfolio-level planning, reporting, governance, and performance monitoring across a diverse real estate development portfolio. This role serves as the central hub for development controls, ensuring projects are effectively tracked, risks are managed, milestones are achieved, and executive leadership has accurate information to support strategic decision-making.
