This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a SMB AI Power User — Competitive Evaluations based in Saudi Arabia.

As an SMB AI Power User, you’ll help evaluate how AI assistants perform against the real-world needs of small and medium-sized businesses. You’ll use your own business experience and daily workflows as a practical testing environment, comparing competing AI tools side by side. Your work will cover marketing, customer communication, research, pricing, scheduling, content creation, and other everyday business tasks. You’ll identify where AI assistants succeed, where they fall short, and which limitations could affect paying business users. The role combines hands-on business operations, structured testing, and detailed technical reporting. It’s an independent, output-focused opportunity for someone who already relies heavily on generative AI in their professional life.

Accountabilities

Run head-to-head prompts and multi-turn workflows across AI assistants, using realistic tasks drawn from small-business operations and marketing. Build and maintain a library of practical SMB test cases covering advertising copy, content planning, customer communications, competitor research, pricing, scheduling, bookkeeping, and related workflows. Test AI capabilities across social media and commerce environments as well as standalone conversational interfaces. Identify and document failure modes, including inaccurate responses, unnecessary refusals, poor instruction-following, tone issues, brand-unsafe content, formatting problems, lost context, and unusable image or video outputs. Produce clear, reproducible evaluation reports detailing the prompts used, AI model and interface, expected results, actual results, severity, and business impact. Compare the value delivered by bundled AI subscriptions with competing paid AI assistants based on realistic business use cases and comparable costs. Evaluate AI tools from the perspective of a real paying business user, focusing on practical usefulness rather than purely technical performance. Maintain a consistent weekly delivery cadence while working independently against defined evaluation criteria.

Requirements

Current or recent experience as the owner, founder, sole proprietor, or day-to-day operator of a small or medium-sized business, ideally with approximately 1–200 employees. Daily, habitual use of generative AI tools for both business operations and marketing; occasional or experimental AI use is not sufficient. Hands-on management of a business presence on Instagram and Facebook, including posts, Stories, Reels, comments, and customer messages. Practical experience creating, launching, and optimizing paid advertising campaigns on Meta platforms using real advertising budgets. Based in the United States and authorized to work there, according to the original role requirements. Availability to complete the agreed deliverables and workload, potentially up to 40 hours per week. Exceptional written English, with the ability to explain AI failures clearly and precisely enough for an engineer to reproduce them without additional clarification. Strong analytical and observational skills, with an ability to distinguish meaningful product limitations from minor inconsistencies. Comfortable working independently, following structured evaluation criteria, documenting findings, and consistently meeting weekly output expectations. Experience with paid AI subscriptions such as Chat GPT Plus/Pro, Claude Pro/Max, Gemini Advanced, or similar is a plus. Experience using multiple AI assistants simultaneously and comparing their practical strengths and limitations is advantageous. Familiarity with AI automations, agents, APIs, no-code integrations, custom GPTs, or similar tools is a plus. Previous experience in model evaluation, red teaming, data annotation, quality assurance, or structured user research is beneficial. Familiarity with SMB tools such as Shopify, Square, Quick Books, Klaviyo, Canva, Cap Cut, or Later is an advantage.

Benefits

Contractor compensation of $40–$50 per hour, with the exact rate determined based on experience, expertise, and geographic location. Opportunity to contribute structured insights that can inform product quality, usability, and competitive positioning. As an independent contractor, you provide your own secure computer and high-speed internet. Strong coaching and mentoring skills, with evidence of developing engineers into effective reliability owners. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate incidents, risks, technical trade-offs, and reliability priorities to both engineers and executives. Strong preference for asynchronous, documented decision-making and clear technical communication. Practical experience using AI tools for incident investigation, telemetry analysis, runbook and postmortem development, and engineering tooling. Understanding of how operational data, alerts, dashboards, and runbooks should be structured to support safe AI-assisted diagnosis and operations. About Agoda

At Agoda, we bridge the world through travel. Our story began in 2005, when two lifelong friends and entrepreneurs, driven by their passion for travel, launched Agoda to make it easier for everyone to explore the world.

Today, we are part of Booking Holdings [NASDAQ: BKNG], with a diverse team of over 7,000 people from 90 countries, working together in offices around the globe. Every day, we connect people to destinations and experiences, with our great deals across our millions of hotels and holiday properties, flights, and experiences worldwide.

No two days are the same at Agoda. Data and technology are at the heart of our culture, fueling our curiosity and innovation. If you’re ready to begin your best journey and help build travel for the world, join us.

Get to Know Our Team

Agoda’s Marketing organization is highly data-driven and uses experimentation, technology and analytics to create measurable value across markets and channels.

Marketing has successfully developed a strong bottom-up culture of AI adoption, with teams using Gen AI to improve analysis, reporting, campaign operations, content development and other recurring workflows. We are now establishing a small Marketing AI Products team to take the next step: turning the most valuable cross-team opportunities into reliable, scalable and widely adopted products.

The team will focus on a small number of high-impact “lighthouse” initiatives while Marketing sub-teams continue to develop and own their everyday, team-specific AI use cases. Initial opportunity areas include experiment analysis, business reporting and monitoring, campaign operations, creative workflows and SEO/AEO content.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a hands-on analyst and product builder who can operate at the intersection of Marketing, data, product development and generative AI.

You will identify high-value workflows, translate business problems into clear product requirements, develop and evaluate solutions, and work with developers and Marketing teams to take successful ideas from prototype through deployment and adoption.

This is not a traditional reporting role or a purely coordination-focused product role. You will be expected to work directly with data and AI tools, understand users’ workflows in detail and take ownership of delivering measurable outcomes.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

Identify recurring Marketing workflows where AI can materially improve speed, quality, scalability or decision-making. Quantify each opportunity by establishing its current effort, pain points, user base and potential business value. Translate business needs into clear product requirements, user journeys, milestones and measurable success criteria. Build and test prototypes using SQL, Python, automation tools and generative AI technologies. Partner with developers, Technology teams and sponsoring Marketing teams to turn successful prototypes into reliable products. Design evaluation frameworks covering output accuracy, reliability, usability, safety and appropriate human review. Lead user research, pilots and iterative testing with analysts, channel specialists and other target users. Drive rollout, documentation, training and adoption in partnership with sponsoring teams. Measure hours saved, improvements in turnaround time and quality, adoption levels and downstream business impact. Maintain a prioritized portfolio of Marketing AI opportunities and communicate progress, learnings and recommendations to senior stakeholders. Monitor developments in AI capabilities and identify when existing products should be improved, expanded or retired. Contribute reusable tools, standards and playbooks that help Marketing teams build better AI-enabled workflows independently.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

4–6 years of relevant experience in analytics, product analytics, marketing strategy, business operations, consulting, product management or a related field. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative, technical or business discipline such as computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, economics or finance. Strong SQL skills and experience working independently with large or complex datasets. Hands-on experience with Python, scripting, workflow automation or similar technical tools. Experience defining hypotheses, designing experiments and translating results into actionable business recommendations. Strong product thinking, including the ability to understand user problems, define requirements and make pragmatic scope and prioritization decisions. Ability to break ambiguous problems into structured workstreams and move rapidly from analysis to execution. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience influencing stakeholders and communicating complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. A strong sense of ownership, attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, dependable solutions. Ability to collaborate effectively across Marketing, Analytics, Product and Technology teams. Experience building Gen AI applications, AI agents or automated analytical workflows.
