<p>Job Purpose: Dispenses medications ordered by privileged physicians while observing at all times highest standards of safety and quality and ensuring prompt seamless process that is conducive to highest patient satisfaction. Key Responsibilities and Duties: Reviews, interprets, clarifies doctor s medications orders and verifies all orders doses, duration, and checks for potential drug-to-drug interaction and clinical indication. Communicates with ordering doctor in case of any ambiguity or concern. Oversees the preparation of the verified medications, performs double-checking and review of proper labeling for the prepared medications and then dispenses. Calculates the amount of the drug product to dispense for a prescription based upon body weight and patient age. Responsible for tracking on the whiteboard all patients that have discharge order and immediately preparing take home medications and refunding / arranging for return of dispensed and non-administered medication.
