This full-time position is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care while upholding the highest standards of professional performance. The role requires adherence to evidence-based medicine, professional medical ethics, and all applicable regulatory standards, including CBAHI/JCIA and Ministry of Health laws. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a clinical setting.</p> <h3 style="font-size:18px; font-weight:700; margin:16px 0 8px;">Core Responsibilities</h3> <ul style="margin:0 0 12px; padding-inline-start:24px; list-style-type:disc; list-style-position:outside;"> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Ensure the delivery of superior quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding to all patients.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Perform history taking, physical examinations, interpret common diagnostic tests, and formulate management plans upon patient admission.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Conduct daily ward rounds for inpatients, liaising with consultants regarding patient care.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Actively participate in departmental on-call rotations and morning reports with the Consultant on-call and moderator.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Admit patients from referral facilities (*, ER and OPD) after discussion with the supervising Consultant.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Evaluate new admissions, coordinate investigation plans with Consultants/Senior Registrars to establish diagnoses and management courses, and execute approved plans.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Seek advice and guidance from senior staff when a patient's condition requires further expertise.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Document all plans in patient charts and maintain updated follow-up notes.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Execute required diagnostic procedures (*, bone marrow aspirations, lumbar puncture, personal cavities aspirations) after consultation with senior staff.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Participate in outpatient services (OPD and ER) under the supervision of senior staff.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Rotate through specialized inpatient units (ICU, CCU, Hemodialysis), if required, under the supervision of the Senior Staff Member in-charge.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Prepare problem lists, discharge summaries, death reports, and special patient reports as needed.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) through medical meetings and departmental educational activities such as Grand Rounds, tutorials, Journal Clubs, and morbidity and mortality meetings.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Carry out administrative, organizational, and other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.</li> </ul> <h3 style="font-size:18px; font-weight:700; margin:16px 0 8px;">Patient and Family Education</h3> <ul style="margin:0 0 12px; padding-inline-start:24px; list-style-type:disc; list-style-position:outside;"> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Educate patients and families according to their needs, implementing the patient and family education policy and procedure, including documentation in medical records.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Involve patients and families in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Provide health promotion and teaching appropriate to the patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference, culture, and specific situation.</li> <li style="margin:0 0 6px;">Allocate necessary time to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education, ensuring appropriate documentation.</li> </ul> <h3 style="font-size:18px; font-weight:700; margin:16px 0 8px;">Reporting Structure and Collaboration</h3> <p style="margin:0 0 12px; ************;">The General Practitioner reports to the Senior Registrar, Consultant Internist or Consultant of the Subspecialty (Division), and the Head of Department.
