<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p>responsible for ensuring that all piling activities comply with project specifications, approved drawings, quality standards, and client requirements.</p><p>QA/QC Engineer – Piling Works</p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Implement and maintain the Project Quality Management System.</li><li>Review project specifications, method statements, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and quality procedures related to piling works.</li><li>Conduct inspections of piling activities, including:</li><li>Bored piles</li><li>Driven piles</li><li>CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) piles</li><li>Sheet piling</li><li>Micropiles (where applicable)</li><li>Verify pile locations, dimensions, reinforcement cages, concrete quality, and installation procedures.</li><li>Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and clients for inspections and approvals.</li><li>Monitor pile testing activities, including:</li><li>Static Load Tests</li><li>Dynamic Load Tests (PDA)</li><li>Integrity Tests (PIT)</li><li>Cross-Hole Sonic Logging (CSL)</li><li>Prepare and submit inspection requests (IRs) and material approval requests (MARs).</li><li>Maintain quality records, inspection reports, test reports, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).</li><li>Ensure calibration of testing and surveying equipment.</li><li>Identify quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.</li><li>Monitor concrete pouring activities and review concrete test results.</li><li>Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 standards and project quality requirements.</li><li>Participate in internal and external quality audits.</li></ul><p>Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.</li><li>3–10 years of experience in QA/QC for piling, foundation, or geotechnical projects.</li><li>Knowledge of international standards such as:</li><li>ASTM</li><li>BS Standards</li><li>ACI</li><li>Eurocodes</li><li>Local authority requirements</li><li>Familiarity with pile testing methods and geotechnical reports.</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.</li></ul><p>Skills</p><ul><li>Quality inspection and auditing.</li><li>Reading and interpreting construction drawings.</li><li>Report writing and documentation.</li><li>Problem-solving and root cause analysis.</li><li>Communication and coordination with clients and consultants.</li><li>Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.</li></ul><p>Typical Deliverables</p><ul><li>Inspection Requests (IRs)</li><li>Material Inspection Reports (MIRs)</li><li>Method Statements</li><li>Inspection &amp; Test Plans (ITPs)</li><li>NCRs and Corrective Action Reports (CARs)</li><li>Pile Test Reports</li><li>Quality Dossiers and Handover Documents</li></ul><p>This role is critical in ensuring that piling and foundation works are executed safely, correctly, and in accordance with project specifications before subsequent construction activities begin.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p> </div><h2 class="h5">Skills</h2> <div data-jb-field="skills"><p>Effective communication and coordination with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams.</p><p>Knowledge of concrete quality control, reinforcement inspection, and surveying checks.</p><p>Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and quality management systems.</p><p>Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple inspections and deadlines.</p><p>Understanding of health, safety, and environmental requirements on construction sites.</p><p>Teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.</p></div>
