<p><span>Responsible for managing the power system and electrical networks. Provides supervision and overall administrative leadership of all substations and electrical network operation and maintenance team members. </span></p><br> <p><span>Oversee the protection of KAUST Utilities electrical assets. Interact with other internal/ external organizations and business owners. Monitoring and auditing the Service Provider performance to ensure adequate and sufficient service is provided safely and professionally. Assure power quality to all end users are meeting approved standards. Mitigate/ eliminate all risks associated with the system operations to ensure business continuity. </span></p><br>

<p><strong><span>Major Accountabilities</span></strong></p><br>

<li><span>Manage electrical power substations and network operations and maintenance activities to ensure optimum operation with high efficiency and minimum downtime. </span></li>
<li><span>Continuous enhancement of the plants electrical systems operation and maintenance activities targeting best performance, technology utilization and cost reduction. </span></li>
<li><span>Makes decisions regarding job priorities, equipment utilization, repair alternatives, and maintenance methods. </span></li>
<li><span>Ensure high quality performance output through the application and observation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). </span></li>
<li><span>Responsible for performing the required evaluation of contractor performance for the monthly Work Completion Certificate issuance. </span></li>
<li><span>Manage the plants electrical operation and maintenance team members and resources to achieve the department goals and objectives within the forecasted budget. </span></li>
<li><span>Lead Emergency Response Plan in case of any electrical services interruptions and emergencies. </span></li>
<li><span>Act as a single point of contact for all power related requests and/or issues. </span></li>
<li><span>Review plans and design for facilities electrical modifications/connections and make recommendations to assure reliability and business continuity. </span></li>
<li><span>Responsible for taking over additional electrical scope according to KAUST project procedures. </span></li>
<li><span>Manage all electrical additions/modification to the contract scope of work. </span></li>
<li><span>Identify and initiate enhancement opportunities through operation/capital projects requests. </span></li>
<li><span>Assure compliance with HSE and O&M SOPs by conducting regular periodic audits and inspections. </span></li>
<li><span>Responsible for staff learning and development plans initiation, monitoring and execution. </span></li>
<li><span>Manage the asset management program including electrical assets registry, condition assessment and replacement plan. </span></li>
<li><span>Establish communication avenues with vendors and third-party contractors for consultations. </span></li>
<li><span>Govern the implementation of all contract terms and conditions. </span></li>
<li><span>Continuously review and update the Risk Register, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery Plans. </span></li>
<li><span>Monitor the progress and implementation of corrective actions and recommendations arising from accident investigations, engineering reviews, insurance surveys, compliance reviews, near miss incidents and emergency drills. </span></li>
<li><span>Ensure the application of all contract terms and conditions. </span></li>
<li><span>Coordinate with KAUST departments to update and enhance the Business Continuity Plan. </span></li>
<li><span>Manage KAUST Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP). </span></li>
<li><span>Review and approve Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) technical and maintenance requirements. </span></li>
<li><span>Ensure sufficient number of work permit issuers and receivers to execute all required cold and hot jobs within the area of responsibilities. </span></li>
<li><span>Ensure all near misses and incidents are timely reported, documented and corrected. </span></li>
<li><span>Conduct safety audits and reviews and ensure that all corrective actions are properly followed up. </span></li>
<li><span>Disseminate all risk information developed and made accessible to all parties that require this information. </span></li>
<li><span>Work with Department Head on Internal or External Audits, ensuring timely compliance to any findings or observations, which may include developing and/or optimizing processes and procedures.</span></li>
