The HYCO Shift Supervisor will manage the day-to-day shift operations which include daily customer production meetings, insuring daily operational targets are achieved, interfacing with the Maintenance and Engineering teams to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the site. The HYCO Shift Supervisor will be responsible to ensure the Operations staff is properly trained to support the operations in addition to the incumbent execute daily tasks which include preparing and implementing safety work permits, LOTO, complete operations preventative maintenance activities, and assist the maintenance and engineering teams in preparing and executing corrective maintenance activities. This position is an extension of the operating team and is expected to engage in all plant operations and ensure tasks performed safely.<br><br>Safety<br><br>PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:<br><br>Provide & maintain a safe work environment. Demonstrate leadership with all company & industry safe work processes to prevent injuries.<br><br>Technical<br><br>Provide direction to the staff of the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer unit and ancillary equipment as prescribed by the Work Instruction Procedures. Operate the unit when required. Provide direction & guidance based on technical feedback from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Engineering and Maintenance for troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and test activities. Provide Operations support, guidance & lead the team during the startups, shutdowns and emergencies of the plants. Maintain accurate document control and monitor quality assurance initiatives. Provide Operations guidance to ensure safety, reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Provide Operations input for scheduled outages to ensure contractual requirements are achieved Manage plant production efficiently based on data driven decisions to ensure safety and reliability targets are met to achieve maximum profitable. Work closely with Shift Team, Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Team and Engineering team to ensure production targets are achieved in his shift, plant running at optimum energy efficiency and safely.<br><br>Operations<br><br>Ensure the safety of all operations personnel by utilizing the APQ Basic Safety Practice program, which includes Safety Work Permits, LOTO, Confined Space, etc. The position facilitates planning, organizing, auditing, and follow-up, to build the Air Products safety culture into the APQ. Ensure all Environmental Regulatory requirements are met. Ensure compliance to all CM, PM tasks. Support and prepare for Shutdown Planning and Turnaround Planning. Ensure Air Products and APQ standards, and global best practices for EH&S, productivity, reliability, quality, and overall customer services are met Meet the customer’s satisfaction on safety, reliability, product quality, and flexibility on product supply. Build the plant technical capability through support coordination from Assistant Site Manager, Site Manager, Maintenance Team and Engineering team. Provide coaching and motivation to the operations team to achieve operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Develop, train, and promote top performing personnel who achieve success through teams, customer and employee focused, foster open communication, performance driven, and results oriented. Establish & maintain close working relationships with engineering and maintenance personnel to continuously monitor & evaluate plant systems & equipment through a Plant Process Advisory Model. Provide operations support and participate / lead incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis. Identify & implement sustainable corrective action(s). Act as the Single Point of Contact when dealing with internal issues of the HYCO units, representing APQ and coordinating internal resources. Provide timely progress updates to the customer. Facilitate attainment of operations excellence and customer satisfaction via operations productivity, reliability, quality, cost reduction, services, continuous improvements, and meeting of budgets. Maintain a relationship with the customer’s counterparts from other Refinery Units where from APQ either receiving Feedstock, Utilities & Power or supplying Hydrogen and Steam to different Refinery Units on a regular basis through Refinery Shift Superintendent to ensure alignment of expectations for APQ and the customers current and future product demand.<br><br>Job Requirements<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations preferred. An associate technical degree (2 year certificate) will be considered based on years of experience and competence. Experience in gas, petrochemical, or related industries in operations, engineering, and/or a maintenance function. Demonstrated HYCO knowledge a plus, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with 4 + years in line supervision of process operations roles. Expectation based on level of experience for the operations team to achieve a ‘Level 1 / Board Level’ status within 2 – 4 years. Operators will be evaluated during the training period and placed at the level of competence accordingly. All the operations team are considered field and board operators when Level 1 is achieved. Leadership positions are expected to follow the progression process. The HYCO Operations Supervisor is an extension of the operating team and is expected to engage in plant operations when required. Proven coordination experience in a multi team environment which includes operations, engineering, and maintenance. Good leadership, interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively throughout all levels within the organization and externally. We invite you to be part of something bigger.</p><p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Operational Quality Assurance:</p><ul><li>To lead the Quality Laboratory ensuring that all finished goods, bulk, raw and packaging materials are properly sampled, analyzed, recorded, cleared, and complying with the Unilever specifications before releasing the shopfloor.</li><li>To strengthen and improve quality sampling, inspection and testing procedures and resources to avoid any line failures / efficiency losses due to material defective quality.</li><li>To ensure & facilitate warehouses in providing awareness and effective monitoring and controls while handling, transporting, and storing Raw & Packaging materials within and outside factory premises</li><li>To develop suppliers in controlling all inbound non-conformances related to raw & packaging materials and lead quality improvement projects with the suppliers from the factory.</li><li>To ensure that all Quality and Process Lab Instruments are calibrated and monitored providing better analysis of the materials.</li><li>To ensure proper product non-conformances management in the factory by blocking physically and in system and proper investigation and preventive action implementation.</li><li>To support in developing analytical methods for any new product, raw and packaging materials introduced to factory along with laboratory instruments.</li><li>To coordinate with Complaint & rework management, export and/or Promo activities as per unilever Quality requirements.</li><li>To represent Quality in all capability trials with R&D and Production within factory related to product, raw and packaging materials.</li><li>To attend innovation meetings and other forums for all BUL related product categories.</li><li>To represent Quality in the absence of QA Manager as per assigned authority.</li><li>Quality Systems:</li><li>To ensure implementation and proper compliance validation of Quality Management System (ISO 9001), HACCP, Consumer Safety, Cleaning, GMP System (ISO 22716), SASO and SFDA requirements across all key functions in the factory.</li><li>To build and sustain quality reporting system and ensure that data is thoroughly analyzed before sharing externally.</li><li>UMS Support:</li><li>To always ensure and maintain 5S condition in the department (including own workplace) and carry out 5S inspections for quality and process laboratories.</li><li>To facilitate UMS activities with QM members coordinating with PEs and Technical teams to ensure implementation of Quality Maintenance on Laboratory & Making Operations to eliminate defects.</li><li>To participate and engage with the team in generating OPLs and KAIZENS for Quality Pillar.</li><li>People and Management:</li><li>To provide necessary trainings (on-job and classroom sessions) on areas of Quality, HACCP, GMP, MSDS, and QMS.</li><li>To develop the team on inspections, analysis, decision making, reporting, communication, quality, and consumer understanding etc. to enhance their knowledge and skills.</li><li>To uplift quality engagement of the employees within factory and work closely with PEs and Operators to develop Quality Culture and consumer mindset</li><li>To maintain highest quality standards, ensure safe working practice and care for environment through total compliance with the guidelines and targets set in Health, Safety & Environment, Quality and Consumer Safety, UMS and Customer Service on BUL Factory.</li></ul></div></section><section><p class="heading">Desired Candidate Profile</p><p class="paragraph"></p><ul><li>Graduate of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry.</li><li>Minimum 2-year supervisory experience / Working knowledge in Manufacturing of FMCG with background in Quality or Analytical Laboratory as an added advantage.</li><li>Must have a logical and methodical approach on work and fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English.</li><li>He must have good knowledge of QMS, GMP, HACCP as well as good analytical skills along with computer understanding.</li><li>Team player, good in communication, ability to provide training, have a logical and methodical approach to his work</li></ul><p></p></section>
