Project Engineer in Electrical Substation, who looks for long term career with grow<br>Job Title: Project Engineer<br>Locations: Riyadh, Qassim, Jizan, Taif, Tabarjal (Saudi Arabia)<br>Job Summary We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing electrical substation projects. The role is responsible for coordinating technical and administrative activities, monitoring project schedules and deliverables, and ensuring smooth communication across all project stakeholders.<br>Key Responsibilities Support the Project Manager in day-to-day project planning, coordination, and execution Monitor project schedules, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely completion Follow up on purchase orders and coordinate material deliveries with suppliers and site teams Prepare regular project status reports for management and client review Coordinate submission, tracking, and approval of technical documents Maintain accurate records of spare parts and punch-list items Monitor and follow up on the closure of pending technical and administrative issues Participate in client and contractor meetings, representing project interests as needed Support the resolution of engineering and project-related issues in coordination with technical teams Review project invoices for accuracy and alignment with contractual terms Maintain effective, professional communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal departments<br>site-based, rotational, or requires relocation across those five cities, since candidates will want that clarity upfront<br>Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Experience: 0–5 years (fresh graduates and early-career engineers welcome to apply) Saudi National only<br>Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) Professional, well-presented demeanor suited to client-facing interactions Willingness to work across multiple project site locations

The role will focus on verifying that electrical installations have been completed, tested, documented, and handed over in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, safety requirements, and client expectations.<br><br>The successful candidate will coordinate with contractors, consultants, commissioning teams, operations representatives, and other engineering disciplines to resolve outstanding technical issues, close defects and non-conformances, verify project records, and support the safe and effective transfer of completed assets into operation.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br><ul><li> Lead the completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of electrical systems associated with water transmission infrastructure, pumping stations, treatment facilities, substations, and related assets.</li><li> Review the status of outstanding electrical works, identify completion gaps and risks, and coordinate recovery actions to achieve project closeout milestones.</li><li> Verify that electrical installations comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and electrical safety procedures.</li><li> Review and close outstanding technical queries, punch-list items, non-conformance reports, design changes, concessions, and contractor action items.</li><li> Coordinate the completion of factory and site acceptance testing, system energization, functional testing, integrated systems testing, reliability testing, and performance demonstrations.</li><li> Review commissioning records, test results, electrical safety documentation, energization procedures, protection settings, inspection reports, and final acceptance evidence.</li><li> Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, process, civil, structural, instrumentation, control, SCADA, telecommunications, and operations teams to confirm that systems are fully integrated and ready for operation.</li><li> Review and verify closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, approved design changes, operation and maintenance manuals, asset registers, spare-parts records, warranties, training records, and equipment certificates.</li><li> Support final inspections, asset acceptance, contractor demobilization, operational readiness, and the formal transfer of electrical systems to the client and operations teams.</li><li> Provide technical leadership, resolve complex electrical issues, mentor junior engineers, and maintain effective communication with contractors, consultants, vendors, utility providers, client representatives, and project stakeholders.<br><br><br></li></ul>Here's what you'll need<br><br><ul><li> Education A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, or related discipline is preferred. Professional engineering registration, chartership, or membership of a recognized engineering institution would be advantageous.</li><li> Experience Minimum 10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including construction completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of major infrastructure projects.</li><li> Sector and Technical Expertise Experience with water infrastructure, pumping stations, treatment facilities, utilities, or industrial assets, supported by strong knowledge of high-voltage, medium-voltage, and low-voltage systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, variable frequency drives, generators, motors, protection systems, cabling, earthing, and electrical distribution.</li><li> Closeout and Commissioning Demonstrated experience managing punch lists, non-conformances, technical queries, acceptance testing, energization, commissioning records, as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, asset data, operational readiness, and final handover.</li><li> Engineering Standards and Digital Capability Strong knowledge of applicable IEC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, ISO, local authority, and electrical safety requirements, with experience using electrical design and analysis software such as ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or equivalent, and platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, or Autodesk Construction Cloud.</li><li> Leadership and Communication Strong technical leadership, analytical thinking, problem-solving, professional judgement, stakeholder management, multidisciplinary coordination, communication, documentation review, and mentoring skills.<br><br><br></li></ul>Jacobs.
