Resident Engineer – Optical Transport / DWDMLocation: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Employment Type: Yearly Renewable Contract Immediate Joiners Preferred Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer – Optical Transport/DWDM to oversee installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover of optical transmission infrastructure across Cable Landing Stations (CLS) and Data Centres.<br>Key Responsibilities Supervise optical transport/DWDM installation and commissioning activities carried out by contractors/vendors. Oversee racks, power, fibre routing, ODF/MMR termination, labelling, and documentation. Witness and validate optical acceptance testing including OTDR, Insertion Loss, ORL, Optical Power, OSNR, Chromatic Dispersion and PMD. Identify design/installation deviations, raise NCRs/non-conformities, and drive corrective actions. Manage punch lists, MOPs, method statements, permits-to-work, and site activities. Verify as-built drawings, installation records, fibre/cable/ODF/interface documentation. Prepare daily/weekly site reports and coordinate with vendors, site owners and CLS operators. Support commissioning, final acceptance and technical handover while ensuring no impact to live network services.<br>Requirements Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline.8+ years of field experience in Optical Transport/Transmission implementation.3+ years supervising telecom contractors/vendors on behalf of an operator/client. Strong experience in DWDM/OTN, optical testing, commissioning and acceptance. Hands-on experience in Cable Landing Stations and/or Data Centres. Experience with OTDR, OSNR, ORL, optical power, fibre/ODF and MMR. Strong vendor management, site supervision, NCR and punch-list closure experience. Experience working in live telecom environments. English mandatory; Arabic preferred.<br>Preferred Certifications Nokia/Ciena/Infinera/Huawei DWDM, CCNP/CCIE Service Provider, PMP/PRINCE2, CDCP/CDCS, BICSI/FOA or equivalent certifications will be an advantage.
