<p><strong>Position Title:</strong> Chemist</p><p><strong>Reporting:</strong> Administrative: Chief Chemist</p><p><strong>Function:</strong> Operations</p><p><strong>Job Location:</strong> Al Madinnah Al Manwarah, Sidra</p><p><strong>JOB PURPOSE:</strong> To conduct lab analysis, test samples, evaluate results and support in the establishment of plant operational parameters, in order to ensure efficient testing and sampling in compliance with NOMAC s policies, quality standards and HSE procedures.</p><p><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Lab Testing</strong> Receive, check and register samples to ensure appropriate tests and analysis are undertaken and develop reports on the test results in an accurate and timely manner according to planned schedules to meet end user requirements.</li><li>Keep abreast and have an understanding of the regulatory requirements pertaining to environmental compliance, chemical used in the plant, MSDS, plant P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, as well as the emergency operation procedures and any other related documents, so as to ensure compliance with the standards and norms.</li><li><strong>Plant Chemistry</strong> Interpret results of tests to help establish optimum operational parameters, both for current operations and to maintain the integrity of the plant over the longer term.</li><li>Provide process related assistance to the Operations team on matters affecting plant process and performance in order to maximize yield as per the quality guidelines.</li><li>Provide support in internal / external Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental audits, in order to effectively implement corrective actions suggested by the team.</li><li><strong>Laboratory Handling</strong> Confirm the yearly third party calibration of lab instruments as per IMS requirements to ensure that equipment is kept in a safe and efficient working condition.</li><li>Investigate and submit recommendations to Chief Chemist on various operational problems related to the chemical and physical analysis to acquire data for process control and verification of quality.</li><li>Maintain adequate stock of all chemicals consumables (bulk and fine chemicals, glassware, etc.) and, dosing and testing equipment in the plant, to ensure timely availability and uninterrupted laboratory services.</li><li><strong>Continuous Improvement</strong> Contribute in the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programmes and projects in line with the organisation s standards.</li><li><strong>Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures</strong> Adhere to all relevant organisational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner.</li><li><strong>Health, Safety, Security & Environment</strong> Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed.</li><li><strong>Related Assignments</strong> Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out.</li></ul><p><strong>Desired Candidate Profile</strong></p><ul><li>A Bachelor degree holder in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering</li><li>3 years experience in a Laboratory function within a reputed Plant preferably within the power and water desalination.</li><li>Time Management</li><li>Data Collection and Analysis</li><li>Planning and Organizing</li><li>Communication</li><li>Operations Systems Knowledge</li><li>Detailed understanding of the Chemical and Environmental matters associated power and Desalination plant.</li><li>Certified Environmental and Safety Qualification</li><li>In-depth knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements</li><li>Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant</li></ul>
<p>Position Title: Shift Charge Engineer Reports to: Operation Manager Location: Al Madinnah Al Manwarah, Sidra JOB PURPOSE: To oversee and manage the operational activities during the shift, monitor operational performance and provide technical support to ensure efficiency, productivity and safety of NOMAC s plant, whilst achieving the shift production targets. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Description People Management Supervise the activities and work of the team members during the shift to ensure that targets and objectives are achieved and the business plan is delivered in line with the required policies, processes, procedures and systems. Operations Management Monitor plant performance and provide operations engineering support dealing with all process / operational related matters and activities during the shift to ensure optimal plant operations in a timely manner. Oversee the day-to-day activities of shift staff and manage all plant operating activities ensuring they are executed in a safe and efficient manner so that the operational area meets required targets. Review all current work instructions, SOPs, processes and procedures and recommend necessary changes to the Operations Manager, ensuring process efficiency and optimization of resources. Monitor operational performance and make quick decisions to correct abnormalities or disturbances, taking corrective actions during a state of emergency. Coordinate with all other departments for activities that are related to plant operations during the shift and ensure their timely execution as per the plan. Maintenance Support . Collaborate with Maintenance team during the shift and ensure that any minor / major activities like commissioning and start-up activities are completed in a safe manner, as per the established plan. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant HSSE and permit to work system, instructions and controls and procedures are complied with so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed. Relationship Management Develop and maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal departments and external contractors while promptly attending to all critical technical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner. Represent the plant in all technical meetings to handle any escalated technical matters, to ensure timely resolution of issues. SAP Administration Administer SAP processes within the operations section and ensure adherence to SAP guidelines in all related aspects of annual and monthly planning, scheduling, data management such as breakdowns review, corrective maintenance notification, creating work orders and planning in order to ensure data/system integrity in line with NOMAC s defined standards. Ensure all system documents are up to date in order to comply with NOMAC s quality standards. Health, Safety, Security & Environment Monitor the adherence to all relevant health, safety, security and environmental procedures, instructions and controls so that the safety of employees and environmental compliance can be guaranteed. Ensure that all accidents, incidents or near misses occurring during the shift are properly reported as per established procedures. Manage an emergency during the shift as per the company emergency response plan until relieved by a higher authority, in order to ensure minimum impact of the hazard. Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out to the required standard and in a consistent manner. Continuous Improvement Contributes to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs and projects in line with the organization s standards. Related Assignments Perform any other duties which the line manager may require to be carried out. COMMUNICATION & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Needs to work closely with Operation Manager, Shift Supervisors, CCR Operators/ Engineers, Chief/shift Chemist, Planning Engineer, Maintenance Team, HSE Engineer, Purchaser, Storekeeper etc. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor s degree holder in Engineering. Minimum Experience: 8 years experience in water desalination and power generation plants with 2 years of experience in a supervisory role. Skills: Knowledge of relevant plant equipment SAP working knowledge is preferred New IMS system awareness/working knowledge is preferred Project Management Mentoring, coaching and people management skills Knowledge of the operations in water desalination and power generation plants and of NOMAC operations Strong planning, organizing, and integration skills Teamwork and effective collaboration skills</p>

The project, which is a significant investment of $3.89 billion, includes the construction of two 1.8 GW power plants. Acwa Operations, with its focus on power and water assets, plays a crucial role in the successful operation and maintenance of these facilities.<br>REPORTS TO: Operations Manager<br>JOB PURPOSE:Responsible for overall plant operation activities in shift. Ensure that all the activities in the plant are performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the approved Standard Operating Procedures, quality standards, time schedules, and other operating requirements. Responsible for safe startup/shut down of the plant as per the Standard Operating Procedures.<br>ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESComply with safety rules and regulations. Be fully aware of the safety hazards in the plant. Familiar with plant O&M agreements, P&IDs, SOPs, Work instructions, Operation and control logics, emergency operation procedures, as well as regulatory requirements and any other related documents. Ensure that the plant is operated to the established standards with minimum risk to men, machine and materials, comply with safety and environmental standards. Coordinate with all other departments all activities that are related to plant operations during the shift and comply with safety rules and regulations. Have a complete understanding of the permit to work system applied to the plant. Issue and cancel permits to work per authorization. Coordinate activities involving plant chemistry with the Chemist. Follow preset operational schedules to fulfill the targeted production availability safely and efficiently. Coordinate all activities or changes in plant status with operations manager. Make quick, on the spot decisions to correct abnormalities or disturbances. Take corrective actions during a state of emergency. Supervise the startup checklist, interlock checks, protection tests, non routine activities like preservation, acid cleaning etc. Upon authorization, issue work permits for maintenance section involved. Have a complete understanding of the permit to work system procedure applied to the plant. Issue and cancel permits to work per authorization. Normalize the equipment after release and perform necessary testing to check the equipment or system after maintenance. Monitor the overall status of the plant and summarize activities in the log book. Fill daily plant status reports and relay all activities that occurred during his shift. Maintain staff evaluation records, vacation schedules etc. prepare evaluation forms for personnel requirement. Prepare incident / accident reports and other reports required by the departments and submit to the concerned authorities within stipulated time period. Keep accurate records on all activities performed in the plant on regular basis. Assist in the training and familiarization of new personnel in the shift. Study and suggest for any modifications which can improve the plant efficiency. Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated. Implement, monitor and report IMS objectives, Targets and programs. Report deviations in Integrated Management System, identify root cause and implement corrective and preventive actions. Ensure regulatory compliance with respect to their scope of activities. Ensure identification of root cause for the identified non conformances/ deviations and to implement corrective actions/Preventive actions. Identify the competency gap for their subordinate personnel and implement necessary actions. Carry out periodic performance evaluation of reporting employees. Provide on-the-job training to new employees and evaluate their OJT Performance. Identification, documentation and control of hazards in assigned work area. Ensure aspects identified are monitored and operational controls are followed. Control emergencies, incidents and near misses. Communicate with the load dispatch center. Perform other duties as assigned.<br>REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A Bachelor Degree holder in Engineering or demonstrable equivalent.8 years in Power/Desalination/RO plant.<br>REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
