The role combines Software Engineering and Industrial Software Engineering, with responsibility for software applications, databases, system integration, Industrial PCs, machine-related software, HMI/SCADA systems, and IT/OT connectivity. The position works closely with IT, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and machine vendors to ensure the reliability, availability, security, and effective integration of software and industrial systems supporting manufacturing operations. Key Accountabilities1. Software Engineering & Application Support Develop, maintain, enhance, and support software applications according to business and operational requirements. Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions. Develop and maintain applications, utilities, and tools required to support manufacturing operations. Perform software testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Develop and maintain databases and SQL queries required by applications and operational systems. Develop and maintain APIs and system interfaces where required. Manage software versions, configurations, updates, and application dependencies. Maintain appropriate technical documentation, source code, configurations, and system specifications. Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, usability, and maintainability.2. Industrial Software & Machine Systems Support and maintain software applications used for the operation, monitoring, and control of industrial machines and production equipment. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software running on Industrial PCs and machine operator workstations. Support machine-related applications, including HMI, SCADA, and other industrial software platforms. Troubleshoot software and communication issues between industrial machines, controllers, Industrial PCs, and related systems. Maintain machine software configurations, parameters, licenses, backups, and critical system files. Support machine software installation, commissioning, upgrades, migrations, and replacements. Maintain software compatibility between machine applications, operating systems, hardware, and related industrial components. Coordinate with machine manufacturers and software vendors to resolve complex technical issues.3. IT/OT Integration Support the integration between Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. Support the exchange of data between machines, production systems, databases, and enterprise applications. Develop or support solutions for automated collection, processing, and reporting of machine and production data. Support integration with systems such as SAP, MES, databases, BI/reporting platforms, and other enterprise applications where applicable. Support industrial communication technologies and protocols such as OPC/OPC UA where applicable. Work with Network and Infrastructure teams to ensure reliable connectivity between industrial systems and approved IT systems.4. Manufacturing & Production Support Provide technical software support to Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and other manufacturing teams. Respond to software-related incidents that may affect machine availability or production continuity. Analyze recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive solutions. Participate in machine installation, commissioning, testing, and acceptance activities from the software and IT/OT perspective. Support production during critical software incidents and planned maintenance activities. Ensure appropriate change management procedures are followed before implementing changes to production systems.5. Backup, Recovery & Business Continuity Maintain reliable backups of machine software, configurations, databases, applications, and critical system files. Periodically verify the integrity and recoverability of backups. Maintain recovery procedures for critical machine-related software and systems. Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities for critical industrial applications.6. Cybersecurity & Compliance Apply IT and OT cybersecurity requirements to machine-related software and Industrial PCs. Coordinate with the Cybersecurity team to identify and mitigate cybersecurity risks affecting industrial systems. Ensure appropriate controls are applied to software installation, access, updates, remote access, and system changes. Support vulnerability remediation and security patching in accordance with approved procedures and production requirements. Ensure compliance with company IT policies, cybersecurity standards, and change management procedures.7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Coordinate with machine manufacturers, software vendors, system integrators, and external technical support providers. Define and communicate technical requirements to vendors. Follow up on technical issues, software updates, patches, licenses, and support agreements. Participate in technical evaluations and acceptance testing of new machine software and systems. Maintain appropriate technical documentation and vendor information. Technical Skills & Competencies Software Engineering Programming and software development. Application development and maintenance. SQL and database management. API development and system integration. Software testing and debugging. Version control systems such as Git. Windows-based application environments. Experience3–5 years of relevant experience in software engineering, industrial software, application support, or a similar role. Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. Supervises and directs the drilling crew and provides guidance, assigns tasks, and monitors performance to ensure the smooth execution of drilling activities. Utilize drilling control equipment, monitor gauges and auxiliary tools, and promptly notify the tool pusher and client representative of necessary actions to address potential issues such as, but not limited to, stuck pipe, flow back, and hydraulics. Ensure the hole is drilled using good oilfield practice to the required depth, with adequate well control contingency in place. Monitor for any down hole irregularities such as kicks, pressure fluctuations, and abnormal torque. Take immediate action to secure the well in the event of a well control incident and promptly inform the Toolpusher and client representative. Instruct subordinates to diligently monitor the pipe string for any irregularities during the process of pulling out of the hole. Take charge of BOP installation including installations of auxiliary equipment such as hoses, guide wire, etc. Pressure test Well Control Equipment as per Company and Regulatory requirement to ensure readiness and effectiveness in critical situations. <p>The Assistant Driller works under the Driller supervision to direct, support and take part in various activities to fulfil the drilling/work-over program. Their responsibilities include maintaining and preparing rig floor equipment and tools for use, overseeing drilling crew activities, assisting in handling drill pipe or casing, monitoring & reporting changes in drilling mud characteristics and ensuring proper housekeeping, in a timely manner considering the safety of personnel, the environment, and equipment to maximize drilling operation efficiency. <strong>Roles & Responsibilities:</strong> <strong>General Duties:</strong> Support the Driller in all aspects of the drilling operation and rig floor activities, supervise and train junior crew members (Derrick Men Floor Men Roustabouts). Assists in the operation and preparation of drilling equipment and machinery. Helps with the rig preparation, equipment assembly and perform routine inspections, Cleans and lubricates equipment, identifies equipment that may require repair or replacement and reports for necessary actions to be taken. <strong>Rig Operations:</strong> Arranges the proper drill string & cross-over subs sizes & equipment for continuous drilling / work-over operations. Arranges bottom hole assemblies and coordinates with Derrick-man drill string and drill collar changes during the "pulling out" and the "running in" of a drill string. Assists in preparing all tools and equipment required for well operations Including. Drifting tubulars and maintaining accurate records of all tubular runs in the hole including pipe tally records. Takes necessary actions to correct hazardous conditions & practices. <strong>Mud Circulating System:</strong> Monitors and maintains the drilling fluid circulation system, fluid lines, shale shakers and trip tanks & ensures proper handling of the drilling fluid products. Advises the Driller of any significant changes in drilling mud characteristics or mud levels and loss of circulation immediately. Observes the mud flow and check materials needed for "pre-kick" conditions and informs the Driller of potential problems that could occur during the operation. Advises the usage of mud chemicals, drilling fluids, and cement slurries for Driller's calculation and input for the morning drilling report so that appropriate corrective actions can be taken whenever necessary. <strong>Well Control:</strong> Operates and maintains well control equipment, ensuring it is in proper working order and ready for immediate use. Monitor for any down hole irregularities such as kicks, pressure fluctuations, and abnormal torque. Take immediate action to secure the well in the event of a well control incident and promptly inform the Toolpusher and client representative.
