Under a 25-year Utilities Concession Agreement, ACWA Power is responsible for the development, construction, operation, and eventual transfer of a fully integrated, off-grid utilities infrastructure. The project includes a 340 MWac solar PV plant combined with one of the world’s largest captive-scale battery energy storage systems (1,000–1,200 MWh), enabling 24/7 clean energy supply. In addition to renewable power, the scope covers seawater desalination (up to 32,500 m³/day), wetlands-based sewage treatment (16,000 m³/day), district cooling (32,500 RT), and zero-landfill waste management (~11,775 t/year). With financial close reached in early 2022, backed by international and local lenders and supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the project represents a pioneering model of sustainable infrastructure aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and the Red Sea destination masterplan.<br>REPORTS TO: Plant General Manager<br>JOB PURPOSE: To manage and oversee the operations and maintenance of solid waste management and sewage treatment systems within the facility/plant. The role ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant handling, treatment, and disposal of solid waste and wastewater in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.<br>KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Operations Management Oversee daily operations of solid waste collection, segregation, storage, transportation, and disposal. Manage sewage treatment plant (STP) operations including biological, chemical, and mechanical processes. Ensure uninterrupted operation of pumps, aeration systems, clarifiers, sludge handling, and treatment units. Monitor plant performance parameters (BOD, COD, TSS, p H, etc.) and ensure compliance with discharge standards. Optimize waste handling and sewage treatment processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational cost.2. Maintenance Oversight Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance plans for waste and sewage systems. Ensure reliability of mechanical, electrical, and control components. Coordinate shutdowns, emergency repairs, and system upgrades. Manage spare parts and inventory control.3. To participate in developing the “Scope of Work” defining the functional requirements/ equipment specifications, in case any system/equipment requires modification to be performed by outsourced agency. To assist Plant Management in responding to the queries and/or clarifications concerning technical specifications asked by the Contractors. To assist Plant O&M crews in analyzing critical system upsets/operating problems and recommend measures to avoid recurrences. To perform Residual Life Assessment (RLA) studies for the major Plant equipments and recommend corrective actions for extending the lifespan and/or for better and economic utilization of the equipment, wherever necessary. To execute and offer engineering support and technical consultancy to NOMAC Plants in following major areas:Areas of Applied Studies: Process development and optimization of conventional thermal and membrane desalination processes; Optimization of pretreatment processes; Root cause identification of corrosion, scaling and other process related problems; Assessment of environmental impacts of Power/Desalination Plants discharges on the marine habitat and vice versa; Life prediction of major equipment and state-of-art assessment of Project designs and their current status. Areas of Evaluation Studies: Performance evaluation of different materials and equipment for the suitability and application in Desalination/Power industry; The materials may include propriety chemicals (e.g., antiscalants, antifoam, coagulants, O2-scavengers, disinfectants, corrosion inhibitors, cleaning agents and other treatment chemicals), metallic alloys, non-metallic construction materials, coatings, insulators, etc., whereas the equipment may include pressure exchangers, condenser tubes, ERDs, RO, UF, membranes, MCF elements, MHDs, Sponge Balls Cleaning System, Sponge Balls, etc. Areas of Troubleshooting Studies: Failure case studies; Event Investigations; Suggesting remedial actions for recurring and unusual problems; Monitoring feed and product water qualities. Perform other duties as assigned.<br>REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Minimum 20 years’ experience in power generation, renewable energy and water desalination sector.16 years in O&M of major Co-generation Plants (combined cycle Power generation and MED + SWRO Desalination units) in Senior Position.<br>REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles. Support performance monitoring, reporting, and digital FM transformation initiatives to enhance service delivery, compliance, and decision-making.<br>Key Responsibility:• CAFM Implementation & Configuration: Lead setup, configuration, and deployment of CAFM/CMMS systems (e.g., Maximo) aligned with project requirements and FM operations.• Asset Data Management: Define and manage asset registers, asset hierarchy, coding structures (ASSETNUM/LOCATION), and data standards to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.•BIM–FM Integration: Coordinate integration of BIM/COBie data into CAFM systems, ensuring alignment with AIR and operational requirements.• Data Validation & Quality Assurance: Perform data validation, cleansing, and verification to ensure asset data integrity and usability for FM operations.•Work Order & PPM Governance: Establish and monitor work order workflows, PPM schedules, backlog management, and closure quality within CAFM.•SLA/KPI & Reporting Support: Develop dashboards and reports (Power BI / CAFM) to track performance, KPIs, asset status, and service delivery metrics.•System Governance & Compliance: Ensure CAFM processes align with SOPs, contract requirements, and audit expectations; maintain data governance and system controls.•User Training & Support: Train FMC teams and FMSP users on CAFM usage, workflows, reporting, and best practices.•Integration with Other Systems: Coordinate integration with ERP, BMS, IoT, and other digital platforms for seamless data flow and operational visibility.• Mobilization & Readiness Support: Support CAFM readiness during project mobilization, including asset data upload, testing, and system go-live.•Continuous Improvement: Identify system gaps, recommend enhancements, and support digital transformation initiatives for improved FM performance•Systems & Digital Tools : Proficiency in CMMS (e.g., Maximo), PMS procedures, KPI monitoring tools, and reporting dashboards, Document management systems (Share Point / EDMS).<br>EXPERIENCE:• Minimum 10+ years in Facilities Management• Experienced in CAFM platforms including Strong expertise in CAFM/CMMS systems (Maximo preferred), including asset hierarchy, work order management, PPM setup, and reporting.•Knowledge of BIM–FM integration, COBie, Asset Information Requirements (AIR), and data governance frameworks.•Understanding of FM operations, SLA/KPI structures, asset lifecycle management, and maintenance strategies.•Proficient in data validation, system configuration, reporting tools (Power BI), and digital FM workflows.•Familiar with ISO 41001 (FM), ISO 55001 (Asset Management), and digital asset management practices.•Adept at leveraging CAFM systems to improve operational efficiency, data accuracy, and service delivery.<br>EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION•Degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline•Facilities or Asset Management, Information Systems/BIM/Digital FM•CAFM vendor certification (e.g., Maximo, Archibus, Planon),ISO 41001.•ITIL , IBM Maximo certification / ISO 41001 / ISO 55001 awareness / BIM / COBie certification<br>If you are an experienced CAFM Consultant with a proven track record, we encourage you to apply and become part of our growing team.
