The right person must be comfortable entering difficult situations, challenging weak performance, making unpopular decisions, handling strong personalities, and carrying responsibility when outcomes are uncertain. They must be able to work with founders and board members, earn trust, communicate uncomfortable truths, and establish a professional management structure without becoming passive or unnecessarily confrontational. They should not wait for perfect information, detailed instructions, ideal resources, or continuous follow-up. This role is not for someone whose experience is limited to large, highly structured organisations where established systems and specialist departments handle most execution. It is for someone who has personally built, fixed, hired, negotiated, sold, launched, followed up, and delivered. Success means the company operates more effectively, grows faster, develops capable leaders, becomes less dependent on its founders, and is prepared for its next stage.
