The successful candidate will provide technical leadership for mechanical systems associated with passenger terminals, concourses, cargo facilities, airport support buildings, maintenance facilities, and other critical airport infrastructure. The Mechanical Lead Engineer will oversee the review and coordination of mechanical engineering solutions including HVAC systems, chilled water systems, ventilation systems, plumbing systems, fire protection interfaces, building services, mechanical equipment, and airport operational facilities. The role requires extensive experience in airport mechanical systems, multidisciplinary coordination, design management, construction supervision, testing and commissioning, and compliance with international standards and aviation operational requirements.</p><p>Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities across the airport development program. Provide technical leadership and guidance to mechanical engineers, designers, consultants, and contractors. Establish mechanical engineering review procedures, technical requirements, and delivery standards. Ensure mechanical engineering deliverables align with project objectives, contractual requirements, and airport operational needs. Support engineering resource planning and technical governance activities. Lead the review of mechanical designs, calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and engineering submissions. Review mechanical systems associated with: Passenger terminals and concourses. Cargo terminals and logistics facilities. Airport operational buildings. Maintenance and support facilities. Utility and infrastructure buildings. Verify compliance with project specifications, international standards, client requirements, and authority regulations. Support value engineering initiatives to improve system efficiency, reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance. Review HVAC system designs including chilled water systems, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, and building controls interfaces. Assess cooling and heating load calculations, equipment selections, and system performance requirements. Review central plant systems including chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and associated mechanical infrastructure. Ensure HVAC systems meet airport operational requirements, passenger comfort standards, energy efficiency objectives, and sustainability targets. Coordinate HVAC interfaces with architectural, structural, electrical, ICT, and BMS disciplines. Review mechanical utility systems including: Domestic water systems. Drainage and sanitary systems. Hot water systems. Pumping systems. Mechanical equipment connections. Coordinate fire protection system interfaces including fire pumps, sprinkler systems, fire suppression systems, and firefighting infrastructure. Ensure mechanical systems are properly integrated with airport facilities and operational requirements. Review equipment rooms, plant areas, access requirements, and maintenance considerations. Review mechanical systems supporting: Passenger processing facilities. Baggage handling areas. Cargo facilities. Airport lounges and commercial areas. Maintenance and operational buildings. Ensure mechanical systems support reliability, redundancy, and continuous airport operations. Coordinate interfaces with specialist airport systems and operational technology requirements. Support operational readiness and maintainability reviews. Provide mechanical engineering support during construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities. Review contractor shop drawings, material submittmits, method statements, RFIs, and technical queries. Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved mechanical designs and project specifications. Support resolution of mechanical technical issues affecting project delivery. Witness testing and commissioning activities including performance testing and system validation. Coordinate with the Client, airport authorities, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies regarding mechanical engineering matters. Support technical approvals, authority submissions, and design review processes. Participate in technical workshops, coordination meetings, and engineering review sessions. Ensure effective management of mechanical interfaces across all project stakeholders. Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications, quality requirements, and international standards. Participate in technical audits, inspections, and engineering reviews. Monitor contractor compliance with approved mechanical procedures and construction methodologies.
