He should actively involve in reasearch, attend clinic and provide a comphrehensive pre-operative assessment and post operative care to general and oncology surgery patients.<br>Essential Responsibilities and Duties<br>I. CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES<br>1. Provides patient care management (diagnose, treatment and prevention) to patient under the consultant supervision in accordance with standards of medical care lay down by Hospital.<br>2. Shares on-call schedule as per requirements and as assigned per the Head Section. Provides on-call coverage while other staff on leave. During the on-call time, supervises the residents and approves all admission after discussing with the Consultant on call.<br>3. Provides all the possible help assistance in the OR to the Consultant.<br>4. Assumes responsibility for patients under his/her care. Liaises with various support services departments and medical specializations to provide appropriate and timely medical care, in accordance with the standards laid down by the hospital.<br>5. Complies with all hospital standards and policies pertaining to acceptance, eligibility, admission process, consultation, daily patient care, operating room, outpatient practice, and, patient discharge.<br>6. Implement early patient discharge. Preparing summaries and operative notes on time. Accurately, records the morbidity and mortality events.<br>7. Conducts ward rounds as per policy and reassesses inpatients under care. Documents findings in medical records. Endures appropriate patients preparation for procedures/surgery and get well informed signed consent for the procedure.<br>8. Attends speciality, subspecialty, and outpatient clinics. Day surgical units, day medical units, special procedures, treatment areas with the Consultant.<br>9. Performs all other clinical/related responsibilities, as assigned.<br>II. ACADEMIC RESPONSIBILITIES<br>1. Supervise and teach junior staff on patient management, especially in the field of General and Oncology Surgery.<br>2. Guides and actively participates in the training of Residents, Fellows, Assistant Consultant and Junior Staff.<br>3. Keeps up with the latest techniques and developments, especially in the field of General and Oncology Surgery.<br>4. Actives participate in the regular academic/educational activities and training programs of the Department and the section.<br>5. Participates in the section s regular teaching seminars for fellows and residents as well as journal clubs.<br>III. ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES<br>1. Undertakes the administrative duties assigned by Head Section or Chairman of the Department.<br>2. Participates in all mandatory departmental activities and serves on department and hospital committees, as required.<br>3. Assists the department in the development and implementation of techniques and practices that help maximize the utilization of all resources within the department and access the hospital.<br>4. Abides by the current hospital and medical staff bylaws, all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps updates of any changes that might occur.<br>5. Participates in self & Hospital s quality improvement plan preferred.<br>6. Follows all hospital related policies and procedures.<br>7. Participates in self & other s education, training and development, as applicable.<br>Education<br>Graduated from an accredited medical school in good standing is required.<br>Experience Required<br>Board certified in Surgery from North America, Europe or equivalent.
