The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of HVAC equipment in accordance with industry practices, manufacturer guidelines, company standards, and EH&S requirements.<br><br>The role requires strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety and quality, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of an integrated team.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br>Carry out assigned HVAC service, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair activities in accordance with standard procedures. Attend and complete assigned tasks within the required timeframe while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Perform daily tasks and maintain accurate timesheets, job cards, and service records. Inspect air-conditioning units and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults; recommend appropriate corrective actions. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records. Repair, replace, adjust, and maintain defective or damaged HVAC components and parts. Adjust and maintain electrical and electronic control systems, including checking motors, belts, blowers, coils, and related components. Prepare inspection reports covering site conditions, scope of work, findings, and technical recommendations. Complete Job Completion Certificates, Job Cards, EH&S site surveys, inspection reports, and other required documentation. Estimate required labor hours, tools, equipment, and materials for assigned work. Communicate with customers regarding work progress, outstanding issues, and recommendations. Ensure work areas are left clean, safe, and orderly upon completion. Identify safety hazards and implement appropriate controls before and during work activities. Follow all EH&S policies, procedures, and safe working practices. Escalate technical, safety, or operational issues to the Supervisor or Manager when required. Safely rig and set up gantries and lifting arrangements for HVAC equipment, pumps, chillers, and other heavy equipment as required. Organize and manage machinery, tools, equipment pickup/delivery, usage, and inventory as applicable. Diploma or equivalent qualification in Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration, HVAC, or a related field.1–3 years of relevant experience in the HVAC industry or field. <p>1. Performs repairs, routine servicing and operations of HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation; operates, programs, and maintains the energy management system in order to control room temperatures for District facilities. 2. Conducts regular preventive maintenance inspections, services and repairs of refrigeration units, isolated heating and ventilating and air-conditioning, units, fan-coil units, including gas, electric and pneumatic operated heating and air conditioning equipment and systems; performs necessary adjustments or repairs; and services and repairs evaporative coolers. 3. Programs, repairs, maintains, and operates HVAC control systems, HVAC system components and/or equipment, and Variable Air Volume (VAV) systems and related modules; utilizes desktop and handheld computer to diagnose and program systems. 4. Performs skilled electrical maintenance work in the connection, repair, installation, and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors, and wiring systems as needed. 5. Troubleshoots gas and electric heating systems; installs natural gas lines and inspects for leaks. 6. Inspects, repairs, modifies, and installs HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, evaporators, forced air units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves. 7. Tests and examines chilled water and water tower operations and boiler as necessary, observing meter and pressure gauges. 8. Installs, inspects, and repairs or replaces defective parts in HVAC units and equipment and their controls. 9. Lubricates and packs heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and air conditioning motors, pumps, fans, bearings, and other equipment. 10. Operates a variety of hand and power tools, solder /brazing equipment, vacuum pump, freon recovery equipment, and other test and repair equipment utilized in the trade and a motor vehicle; maintains equipment in effective and safe working condition. 11. Diagnoses HVAC/R mechanical and electrical problems; repairs or replaces defective or malfunctioning parts in units, equipment, and controls; installs, rebuilds, replaces, or repairs fans, motors, thermostats, fuses, filters, bearings, valves, controls, gaskets, and other equipment as necessary. 12. Researches and evaluates products for best sources; recommends the purchase of selected parts, materials, and equipment; assists in labor and material estimations for projects; prepares and maintains work orders, records, and reports related to work performed. 13.
