<h2 class="h5">Job description</h2> <div class="t-break" data-jb-field="description"> <p><span><span><strong>Senior Geotechnical Engineer</strong></span></span></p><br><p><strong>Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company (MBCC)</strong></p><br><p><strong>Jabal Sayid Mine Site – Madinah Region, Saudi Arabia</strong></p><br><p>Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company (MBCC) is seeking a motivated <strong>Senior Geotechnical Engineer </strong>to join our Mining team at the <strong>Jabal Sayid Mine Site in the Madinah region of Saudi Arabia</strong>.</p><br><p><span><span>The Mining Department is responsible for all planning, short, medium and long term is in place to ensure that the mine is able to meet its budget. This includes providing the mining contractor with all the necessary information to allow them to plan their crews manning, equipment numbers and daily schedule. Tracking of production over the relevant cycles (daily, weekly etc.) is also carried out to identify issues the will prevent targets being met. All work must be carried out to meet all relevant mining and reporting cycles.</span></span></p><br><p><span><span><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></span></span></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Inspection and documentation of ground conditions and support installation quality in new development areas and existing mine workings.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Check scaling program is in place and complied.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Install various geotechnical instrumentation where warranted.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Maintain seismic system.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Participate in short and long term mine planning and design to ensure adequate ground control has been included.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Annual updates of ground control management plan.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Conduct regular inspections as per GCMP, identify and plan rehabilitation work, maintain accurate records of ground conditions and quality of support.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Investigate and report ground related incidents such as falls of ground and draw action plant to correct them.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Produce annual budget for the department.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Upskilling and mentoring Geotechnical and Graduate Geotechnical engineers.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Jabal Sayid Ground Management Plan is in place and up to date.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Geotechnical databases consistently updated.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Ensure adequate QAQC of ground support systems are followed.</span></p><br></li></ul><p><span><span><strong>Technical</strong></span></span></p><br><ul><li><p><span>Undertake and document geotechnical assessments of all existing and new development areas.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Design and maintain up to date ground support standards. Ensure standards are adequate for the current ground conditions.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Ensure geotechnical data is collected and geotechnical block model updated.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Calibrate numerical model.&nbsp;</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Liaise with Planning and Production Engineers to ensure optimal stope sequencing and designs.</span></p><br></li><li><p><span>Participate in ground control assessments for each stope.
