<p>The Welding Engineer is responsible for planning, controlling, supervising and providing technical support for all welding activities associated with fabrication, construction, installation, maintenance and repair works. You will collaborate across all stages of the project lifecycle with the Preliminary Works, Design, Engineering and Construction supervision team and in close coordination with the D&amp;B Contractor overseeing the traffic diversions and roads construction works with focus on delivery and special emphasis on safety.</p><br><p>With such size, scope and scale, you'll have plenty of opportunities to keep yourself challenged and to grow your technical leadership skills.</p><br>Your role<ul><li>Review contractor proposals for compliance with project requirements, regulations and stakeholder specifications, and provide technical recommendations for traffic management, temporary diversions and road works, both temporary and permanent.</li><li>Evaluate traffic impact assessments, capacity analysis, and traffic modeling to evaluate diversion effectiveness.</li><li>Ensure traffic diversion plans consider safety, accessibility, emergency access, operational continuity and compatibility with the logistics requirements for delivering the project.</li><li>Analyze traffic volumes, travel patterns, intersection performance, and road network capacity to review diversion planning.</li><li>Ensure traffic management and diversion plans comply with national regulations, international standards, and traffic safety requirements.</li><li>Ensure proper implementation of safety measures for road users, pedestrians, and construction personnel.</li><li>Conduct technical reviews and ensure quality assurance throughout project execution.</li><li>Ensure traffic control devices, signage, markings, and temporary infrastructure are properly designed and implemented.</li><li>Provide technical oversight during implementation of traffic diversions, ensuring compliance with approved plans and safety standards.</li><li>Conduct site inspections and audits to verify effectiveness and safety of traffic diversion measures.</li><li>Identify risks, operational constraints, and potential conflicts, and develop mitigation strategies.</li><li>Support construction teams to ensure traffic diversions align with project schedules and phasing.</li><li>Liaise with clients, local authorities, traffic police, contractors, and stakeholders to obtain approvals for traffic diversion schemes.</li><li>Participate in coordination meetings to ensure alignment of traffic management strategies with project requirements.</li><li>Provide technical guidance and support to multidisciplinary teams.</li><li>Ensure that the PMCM Team, and specially the Construction Supervision Team are well informed of the traffic and road works, attend the toolbox talks and traffic safety briefs, and follow the safety rules and procedures while undertaking their duties.</li><li>Coordinate with the HSE Manager and Head of Construction for incorporating the traffic and road works within the reports.</li><li>Keep a proactive Safety aptitude and behaviour, and contribute in positive to the a culture of safety.</li></ul>About you<ul><li>Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related discipline, with a minimum of 12 years of experience. Master’s degree in Transportation Engineering or Traffic Engineering is preferred.</li><li>Professional membership with a recognized engineering institution is preferred.</li><li>Proven experience in major road, infrastructure, or urban development projects, with strong expertise in traffic engineering, traffic management, and detour design. Ability to manage complex traffic challenges in large infrastructure environments.</li><li>Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing traffic management and detour plans for complex construction projects.</li><li>Experience in traffic impact assessments, traffic analysis, and traffic modelling.</li><li>Strong knowledge of traffic control devices, road safety standards, and temporary traffic management.</li><li>Experience coordinating with contractors, consultants, and government authorities.
