Summary<p>Provides respiratory care as assigned. Serves as a resource to healthcare providers in relation to technical and therapeutic aspects of Respiratory Care.</p><br><br>Essential Responsibilities and Duties<br><p>1. Performs respiratory care procedures (i.e. medical gas therapy, bland/medicated aerosol therapies, Broncho pulmonary hygiene) per established department policy and procedures. </p><br><br><p>2. Monitors patient responses and modifies therapies based on clinical/physiologic assessments and consultation with physicians. </p><br><br><p>3. Reads and evaluates physician’s orders. Applies mechanical ventilator support of patients and monitors patient’s response. </p><br><br><p>4. The Physical Therapist is responsible for conducting treatment sessions and developing programs using a wide range of physical therapy modalities and methods to enhance patients' functional outcomes. The therapist works in coordination with Physicians and Surgeons to implement therapeutic strategies for patients recovering from disabilities and diseases—ranging from mild sprains and strains to complex neurological conditions and amputations. <p><strong>Job Purpose / Objective </strong></p><br>
<p>Consultant Endocrinologist is fully responsible to provide highest standard of clinical care, practice and expertise in assessment, investigation, diagnosis, treatment & follow up of patients in endocrinology. Physician should actively involve in continuous quality improvement activities of department and hospital to achieve the goals of HMG.</p><br>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities </strong></p><br>
<ul>
<li>Manage the assigned clinics as per the approved rota by the Medical Director.</li>
<li>Admit the patients under care whenever indicated within the limits of the approved and assigned privileges.</li>
<li>Responsible for the initial assessment, investigation, analysis & interpretation of the clinical findings and test results, arriving at diagnosis, treatment, and re-assessment and follow- up of the patients to reach a final diagnosis.</li>
<li>Prescribe, administer medication, therapy, and/or other appropriate care to treat or prevent further complication of the disease.</li>
<li>Responsible for explaining procedures and discussing diagnostic results or prescribed treatments with the patients and/or with the authorized attendants.</li>
<li>Monitor the patient’s condition and progress and re-evaluate/ re-assessment and treat the patient accordingly.</li>
<li>Refer the patient to other consultants/specialists when necessary, also consult, or provide consulting services to, other physicians whenever requested.</li>
<li>Undertake daily rounds on Patients admitted under his/her name and any referred patients.</li>
<li>Document and ensure completeness of all medical records of the patients as per the policies of the hospital and update on the progress of the patient appropriately.</li>
<li>Authenticate the medical records at initial entries and progress notes by logging in with own username and password in Patient Health Records.</li>
<li>Review and validate the entries and notes of all junior medical staff in case of patients under his care.</li>
<li>Perform diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures for which the Consultant is privileged for.</li>
<li>Approve the completed discharge summary, follow-up plan, medical report of the patients.</li>
<li>Assume duties as the Head of the department as and when required by the management.</li>
<li>Ensure the implementation of all approved policies, procedures, rules, regulations, protocols, guidelines and clinical pathways that guide and support the provision of clinical services.</li>
<li>Direct, supervise and coordinate the activities of specialists, residents, nurses, therapists, assistants and other medical staff involved in patient care.</li>
<li>Advise and contribute to the development of policies and procedures as part of the continuous quality improvement program of the department.</li>
<li>Serve on Departmental / Hospital Committees as required.</li>
<li>Ensure that Islamic Values and Medical Ethics are respected and strictly observed.</li>
<li>Responsible to be On-Call as per hospital policy.</li>
<li>Attend the Code Blue, whenever applicable, and should be involved in all other emergency codes of the hospital.</li>
<li>Provide the Patient Medical reports and information as and when required by the Head of the department or Hospital Administrator/Medical Director of the Hospital.</li>
<li>Identify and bring all Medico-Legal Cases to the notice of the management on time in accordance with the hospital policy.</li>
<li>Participate in the provision of clinical / academic activities of the hospital.</li>
<li>Play an active role in the education of the patient and his/ her family on a healthy lifestyle. Contributes to awareness and education of the community, in general, on issues related to health.</li>
<li>Be regular and punctual in the duties assigned as per the schedule</li>
<li>Follow all hospital policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Obtain informed consent for all patients in accordance with hospital policy for the undertaking of any diagnostic procedure, operation, test or procedure.</li>
<li>Participate in, and lead person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.</li>
<li>Provide orientation, bedside training and supervision to undergraduate and postgraduate trainees (interns, residents and fellows) as assigned.</li>
<li>Participate in self-and others’ education, training and development as applicable and department’s educational activities and training programs of the department.</li>
<li>Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity</li>
<li>Perform other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.</li>
</ul><br><p><strong>Education/ Professional Qualification</strong></p><br>
<ul>
<li>Graduate of Medical School, recognized by the Medical Council of the country of origin.</li>
<li>Completion of appropriate internship and residency programs</li>
<li>Post-graduate qualifications in the specialty.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience </strong></p><br>
<ul>
<li>At least three (3) years of practice in his / her specialty after obtaining the higher degree in a Tertiary Care Hospital.</li>
<li>Subspecialty degree or structured subspecialty training preferred.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Professional Licensing / Certification / Training </strong></p><br>
<ul>
<li>Membership, Fellowship and/or Board Certification in respective specialty.</li>
<li>Relevant licensure from the country of origin, acceptable to Saudi Commission for Health Specialty and Ministry of Health. </li>
