Job description

We are hiring a Senior Localisation Engineer to be the primary builder of an Arabic-first localisation pipeline for a live, global game.
An ambitious, well-backed international games company is building a specialised localisation capability from the ground up, and this is the engineer who makes it work in-engine. This is a hands-on Unity role for someone who believes great localisation starts with great code. You'll split your time between solving the immediate technical hurdles of bringing existing games into Arabic and building the long-term tools that let game teams automate it themselves. You'll own the pipeline, from RTL rendering to the automation that keeps a live title shipping in multiple languages.

Discover the Role

Build the Framework: Create and maintain the core Unity packages and scripts that handle RTL text, dynamic layouts and localised asset loading across multiple titles.

Automate the Pipeline: Develop tools for automated string extraction and synchronisation with external translation systems, integrated cleanly with live-service titles.

Fix It at the Source: Work directly in existing game codebases to refactor UI systems that aren't compatible with Arabic text expansion or RTL.

Bring AI to QA: Implement AI-driven tooling for first-pass technical QA, flagging text clipping and rendering issues in Arabic automatically before they reach human testers.

Own the Hard Problems: Take the bidirectional text, shaping, font fallback and layout mirroring that make Arabic harder than a simple language swap, and solve them properly.

Discover the Required

Expert Unity & C#: 7+ years of software engineering in games, with expert-level C# and Unity. This is non-negotiable — you build in the engine every day.

Real Localisation Engineering: Genuine, hands-on localisation or internationalisation experience. Not plugging in an asset, but building the systems: string pipelines, RTL, text and font handling.

Text & Font Depth: Hands-on experience with text rendering engines and font management. RTL and Arabic are the core of this job, so comfort with bidirectional text and shaping is what sets the right person apart.

Tools & Pipeline Builder: A strong track record building automated pipelines or developer-facing tools. Gameplay-only engineers who've never built infrastructure won't be the match here.

Self-Starter: You'll be standing this capability up with limited existing loc expertise around you, so you need to know what to do independently.

Discover the Desired

Experience with AI-assisted localisation workflows.

Background in tools, pipeline or platform engineering.

Arabic language (a strong plus, not a requirement — technical skill comes first).

Experience localising live-service titles with ongoing content updates.

MENA regional experience.

CJK or other complex-script localisation experience (directly transferable to RTL).
