About Perfect Vision and the Role

Perfect Vision provides connected telematics and fleet solutions across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, deploying devices on our customers' vehicles and assets. We are seeking a Senior Hardware QA & Installation Support Engineer to join our team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This is a full-time position crucial for maintaining the quality and reliability of hardware deployed in the field.

Role Overview

As the Senior Hardware QA & Installation Support Engineer, you will serve as the technical gatekeeper for all hardware deployed in the field. Your primary responsibility will be to validate that every product meets functional, quality, and reliability standards before reaching a customer. This role involves assessing component and build quality on each incoming batch and providing hands-on technical guidance to field installation teams for correct hardware deployment. The focus of this position is on validation, quality assurance, and installation support, rather than circuit design.

Key Responsibilities

Validate telematics devices (GPS/GNSS trackers, OBD/CAN units, dashcams and cameras, sensors) against functional, performance, and reliability requirements before approval for deployment.

Define and run incoming inspection and acceptance testing on each new batch, including sampling plans, test procedures, and clear pass/fail criteria.

Assess component and build quality – solder joints, connectors, enclosures, wiring harnesses, SIM and antenna integration, and general workmanship – identifying defects, substandard parts, and batch-to-batch variation.

Verify device functionality end to end: power-up, GNSS fix, cellular connectivity (2G/4G/LTE-M/NB-IoT), CAN/OBD-II data, I/O behaviour, and correct reporting into our platform.

Benchmark and compare competing products and models, producing clear evaluation reports and recommendations to support product selection decisions.

Maintain quality records, defect logs, and quality scorecards; drive corrective actions and manage RMA and warranty claims with manufacturers.

Provide technical guidance and training to the installation team – wiring diagrams, mounting best practice, troubleshooting steps, and installation acceptance checks.

Support field escalations, diagnose returned or faulty units, and feed findings back into quality improvement and future product selection.

Ensure products meet applicable Saudi and regional regulatory and type-approval requirements (* CITC) and any customer or fleet compliance needs.

Required Qualifications

4+ years of experience in hardware QA, validation, test, or field engineering.

Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting electronic devices; experience with GNSS/GPS, cellular modems, and CAN-bus/OBD-II hardware is a strong advantage.

Ability to read schematics, datasheets, and wiring diagrams, and to use standard lab and diagnostic tools (multimeter, oscilloscope, logic/diagnostic tools).

Solid understanding of electronic component quality, common failure modes, and inspection techniques.

Experience defining test procedures, acceptance criteria, and quality documentation.

Comfortable driving quality issues, RMAs, and corrective actions through to resolution with manufacturers.

Strong communication skills, with the ability to guide, train, and support installation technicians in the field.

Desired Skills and Experience

Experience in telematics, fleet, IoT, or automotive electronics.

Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems and 12V/24V installations.

Exposure to incoming quality control (IQC), AQL sampling, and quality audits.

Knowledge of Saudi/GCC type-approval and CITC certification requirements.
