Role Summary:Supervisor, Utilities & Cranes Maintenance is accountable for leadership of utilities operation and maintenance, crane maintenance and instrumentation maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable supply of critical services to manufacturing operations. The role allocates manpower and equipment, enforces statutory and safety standards, monitors operational parameters, and directs first line troubleshooting and coordinated maintenance activities. This position tracks performance indicators, maintains audit ready documentation, balances capacity with production demands, and drives energy optimization and continuous improvement to protect asset integrity and operational continuity.<br>Roles and Responsibilities:Leads end-to-end utilities, crane & instrumentation operations and maintenance, ensuring safe and reliable performance of air compressors, cooling towers, pumps, water treatment systems, main gas station, main power substation, main water supply station and industrial wastewater, overhead crane, jib crane, maintenance hoist, mobile equipment, furnaces, online measuring equipment …. etc. to support and maintain plant manufacturing continuity. Ensures strict compliance with health, safety, environmental, OSHA, and statutory regulations by enforcing permit-to-work systems, lockout-tagout procedures, isolation controls, and safe operating standards across utilities and crane activities. Allocates utilities, crane, instrumentation operators and maintenance, field attendants, and contractors to operational priorities and maintenance windows based on production demands, competence, availability, and risk assessments. Supervises safe execution of work by verifying isolations, energy-release controls, barricading, certifications, and adherence to approved procedures before and during task execution. Monitors equipment’s parameters including pressure, temperature, flow, fuel consumption, compressed air load, and water quality, proactively adjusting operations to prevent trips, protect assets, and sustain production requirements. Balances utilities capacity availability against production plans by coordinating minor outages, preventive maintenance, and load adjustments to avoid high-impact breakdowns and delivery disruptions. Leads first-line troubleshooting of utilities, crane and instrumentation abnormalities, guiding structured diagnostics, stabilizing systems quickly, and escalating complex failures to maintenance specialists or engineering teams as required. Ensures utility operators and crane, instrumentation maintenance team are trained and compliant with safety standards. Coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance for utilities, crane and instrumentation systems, ensuring work orders are properly created, executed, documented, and closed within the SAP for audit readiness and reliability tracking. Tracks shift-level performance indicators include availability, forced trips, energy intensity, water consumption and operational cost, initiating corrective efficiency and reliability improvement actions. Conducts routine safety inspections, toolbox talks, and utilities-area audits to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and reinforce a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Maintains accurate operational and maintenance logs, inspection records, compliance documentation, and maintenance reports to ensure traceability, regulatory adherence, and performance transparency. Collaborates with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams to align utilities supply and maintenance activities with manufacturing schedules and plant priorities. Provides hands-on technical guidance for utilities, crane & instrumentation systems including combustion tuning, compressor control optimization, cooling tower treatment balancing, pump alignment, and crane performance troubleshooting etc. Drives continuous improvement and energy optimization initiatives within utilities operations by identifying consumption trends, piloting efficiency improvements, and standardizing best practices to reduce cost and environmental impact. Trains and guides junior utilities operators and contract personnel on operating practices, safety requirements, emergency response procedures, documentation standards, and disciplined parameter control to build a reliable utilities operations team.<br>Qualification and Education:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Instrumentation or Industrial Engineering with focus on utilities or process plants or any related field. <span>We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Commissioning & Start-Up (CSU) Lead to oversee the successful transition of our Steam Methane Reformer (SMR) hydrogen production assets from the construction phase to commercial operation.<br> You will lead the field execution team, manage interfaces between engineering, construction, and operations, and ensure that all plant systems are safely commissioned, tested, and fully functional in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.<br> Key Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy: Provide technical and operational leadership for the site commissioning team.<br> Develop and implement the Commissioning Execution Plan, including scheduling, resource mobilization, and budget management.<br> Technical Oversight: Lead the end-to-end commissioning of SMR units, including the reformer furnace, shift converters, PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) purification systems, compressors, steam systems, and balance-of-plant (BOP) utilities.<br> Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety protocols (Permit-to-Work, LOTO, HAZOP/HAZID compliance) throughout the construction, commissioning, and startup phases.<br> Act as a safety champion on-site.<br> Pre-Commissioning & Testing: Manage pre-commissioning activities, including mechanical completion walkdowns, piping system flushing/cleaning, leak testing, instrumentation loop checks, and control system (DCS/PLC) functional validation.<br> Startup & Stabilization: Direct the first-time introduction of feedstocks and gases, manage the ramp-up process, and conduct performance test runs to verify that the plant meets design efficiency and production targets.<br> Documentation & Handover: Ensure all commissioning documentation (test reports, punch lists, as-built records, handover dossiers) is accurate and complete.<br> Facilitate the formal turnover of the facility to the Operations team.<br> Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between project engineering, EPC contractors, vendors/OEMs, and the client/owner’s operations team to resolve technical issues and resolve punch list items efficiently.<br> Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering.<br> Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in the oil, gas, or chemical industry, with at least 5 years specifically in a lead capacity for the commissioning and startup of SMR Hydrogen plants .<br> Technical Depth: Deep understanding of SMR process chemistry, thermodynamics, and high-temperature furnace operations.<br> Expertise in hydrogen safety, high-pressure gas systems, and PSA unit operations.<br> Proficiency in interpreting complex P&IDs, control logic, and loop diagrams.<br> Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary site teams and coordinating effectively with contractors and subcontractors.<br> Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills to perform root cause analysis (RCA) during technical troubleshooting of complex process issues.<br> Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to report progress to stakeholders and train operational personnel on new systems.<br> Preferred Qualifications Experience with other hydrogen technologies (e.<br>g., electrolysis, carbon capture integration).<br> Certification in Project Management (PMP) or relevant industry health and safety certifications.<br> Experience in both greenfield and brownfield project environments.<br> Working Conditions This is a field-based, 100% site-presence role.<br> Must be willing to work at construction sites, which may include remote or international locations.<br> Requires flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or shifts during critical startup milestones.<br></span> </div><h2 data-automation-id="subHeaderPreferredCandidate" class="h5">
