Ensures optimum utilization of resources within the unit and follow established safety regulations in the use of medications (emergency, narcotics, controlled drugs, high alert), equipment and supplies. Accountable each shift for the inventory and endorse any medication floor stock level or unit dose stock for the assigned patients. Ensures medical equipment operable functions and safety use. Aware of reporting system for any malfunctioned equipment and unavailability of supplies in the unit to be reported to Charge Nurse. Follows established infection control procedures. Aware of reporting system for any infection control concerns to be notified to the Charge Nurse, practice chain of command. When isolation precautions become necessary, follow guidelines accordingly. Practice and comply with standard precautions in managing patients. Follows established policies, procedures and programs to ensure patient safety as well as environmental safety. Performs non-invasive cardiac investigations such as but not limited to ECG, Holter monitoring, stress testing, pacemaker and ICD analysis, blood pressure monitoring, echocardiography procedures including Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), and Stress Echocardiography (SE).</p><p>2. Performs urgent procedures on critically ill patients portably on the wards, in the OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICUs, Emergency Room, and any other location as requested and as required.</p><p>3. Assists physicians with procedures in the OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, or any other setting as required.</p><p>4. Observes and monitors patients during procedures, notes signs of distress and/or medical emergencies, takes remedial action, and notifies the nurse and/or physician as necessary.</p><p>5. Produces meaningful diagnostic information, obtains measured and calculated data, and makes preliminary reports for review by the reporting physician.</p><p>6. Documents and logs all patient events and procedures.</p><p>7. Ensures a safe environment and safe operation of equipment.
