Job description

To plan work schedules and monitor operations for the crude oil section to ensure that operations are performed as per standards and procedures, effectively, and safely.

Main Responsibilities

Policies, Processes and Procedures

• Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.

Day-to-day Operations

• Applies the day-to-day operations assigned for the section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.

Operations

• Executes and ensures crude oil loading and unloading operations are done safely, efficiently, and as per standards and procedures.
• Communicates with tank farm operators and supervisors to ensure tanker loading and unloading operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
• Carries out routine inspections on machines to ensure continuous operations.
• Initiates work requests and contacts concerned sections regarding maintenance of equipment.
• Reports to shift supervisor and/or superintendent for all comments and remarks which might have occurred during or which will affect productivity.
• Assists in periodic inventory of materials in store to ensure availability and prepares materials requests.

Maintenance

• Contacts maintenance division to exchange information on progress of maintenance work and to report defective condition of machinery, equipment and instruments, which are detected during daily inspections.
• Coordinates maintenance as required to ensure operations can be executed effectively.

Supervision

• Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets.
• Gives work directions to assigned employees under his supervision and oversees their work to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the established operating methods and procedures.

Reporting

• Prepares section reports in a timely and accurate manner to meet Company and section requirements, policies and standards.

Safety, Health & Environment

• Complies with all relevant safety, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

Additional Responsibilities

• The post holder may be required to undertake additional duties, which may be reasonably expected and forms part of the function of the post.

Communications & Working Relationships

• Internal: All departments and divisions as required.
• External: Contractors, vendors.

Skills

Academic & Professional Qualifications:

Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Instruments, Logistics, Maritime Shipping, or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 6 years of experience in oil and gas operations and day-to-day activities.

Languages:

The minimum English language required is KJO L4 – Intermediate.
