Overview of the Role

The Business Planning Manager will head the Business Planning function for BYD & Denza brands in KSA, owning the annual operating plan, mid-term strategic plan, and the analytical engine that supports executive decision-making. The role is the strategic backbone of the business — translating market intelligence, OE inputs, and operational data into coherent plans, investment cases, and management reviews. It carries significant influence across Sales, Aftersales, Finance, and Marketing, and is critical to delivering BYD & Denza's growth ambition in the Kingdom.

What You Will Do

Business Planning & Strategy

  • Lead the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Mid-Term Plan (MTP) for BYD & Denza in KSA across Sales, Aftersales, and network expansion.
  • Translate brand strategy, OE volume guidance, and market dynamics into bottom-up volume, revenue, and profitability plans.
  • Build investment cases for new branches, showrooms, workshops, and brand initiatives.

Market Intelligence & Insights

  • Track KSA market performance, competitor activity, EV adoption trends, pricing, and segment shifts.
  • Translate market signals into actionable recommendations for Sales, Pricing, and Network teams.

Performance Reviews & Reporting

  • Own the management review rhythm: monthly business reviews, quarterly performance decks, and ad-hoc executive papers.
  • Build crisp, board-ready presentations for Al-Futtaim leadership and BYD HQ engagements.
  • Develop and maintain the brand's KPI scorecard across volume, share, profitability, and customer metrics.

Analytics & Modeling

  • Build planning models, scenario analyses, and sensitivity studies to support pricing, volume, and investment decisions.
  • Drive data discipline across the business — single source of truth for plan, forecast, and actuals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales, Aftersales, Marketing, Network Development, and Finance to build aligned plans.
  • Lead the rolling forecast process and ensure timely course-correction when performance drifts from plan.

OE Engagement

  • Support the BYD HQ planning interface — volume submissions, model mix planning, and strategic reviews.

  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate ambition into actionable plans
  • Advanced analytical skills, including modeling, scenario building, and KPI design
  • Executive-grade presentation and storytelling skills
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen
  • Confident stakeholder engagement up to senior leadership and OE HQ
  • Excellent command of analytical and BI tools (Advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau)
  • Structured problem-solving and decision-making under ambiguity

What Qualifies You for the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, or Economics. MBA strongly preferred.
  • 15–20 years of experience in automotive operations, business planning, strategy, or commercial roles.
  • Proven track record building AOPs, MTPs, and executive-level business reviews.
  • Strong analytical tool proficiency (Power BI, Tableau, Advanced Excel, planning systems).
  • GCC or KSA market experience preferred. Exposure to OE-distributor or Chinese OE environments is an added advantage.
