ABOUT THE POSITION
What We’re Looking For:
The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team in preparing and cooking dishes while maintaining quality, hygiene, and food safety standards. This role assists senior chefs with daily operations and plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient kitchen service.
What You’ll Do:
· Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items according to established recipes and quality standards.· Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and food preparation tasks.· Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices in compliance with health and safety regulations.· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation, kitchen equipment, and storage areas.· Prepare ingredients (washing, cutting, portioning) efficiently to support service flow.· Follow instructions from Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Head Chef during service.· Assist in stock rotation, inventory control, and minimizing food waste.· Contribute to a positive team environment and support smooth kitchen operations at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
· Fluent in English & Arabic · Basic experience in a professional kitchen and relevant culinary training.· Good understanding of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.· Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.· Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop culinary skills.· Strong teamwork and communication skills.· Good organization and attention to detail.· Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
