About the Role

National Medical Care is seeking a General Practitioner Home Care to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care while upholding the highest standards of professional performance. The role requires adherence to evidence-based medicine, professional medical ethics, and all applicable regulatory standards, including CBAHI/JCIA and Ministry of Health laws. Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a clinical setting.

Core Responsibilities

• Ensure the delivery of superior quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding to all patients.
• Perform history taking, physical examinations, interpret common diagnostic tests, and formulate management plans upon patient admission.
• Conduct daily ward rounds for inpatients, liaising with consultants regarding patient care.
• Actively participate in departmental on-call rotations and morning reports with the Consultant on-call and moderator.
• Admit patients from referral facilities (*, ER and OPD) after discussion with the supervising Consultant.
• Evaluate new admissions, coordinate investigation plans with Consultants/Senior Registrars to establish diagnoses and management courses, and execute approved plans.
• Seek advice and guidance from senior staff when a patient's condition requires further expertise.
• Document all plans in patient charts and maintain updated follow-up notes.
• Execute required diagnostic procedures (*, bone marrow aspirations, lumbar puncture, personal cavities aspirations) after consultation with senior staff.
• Participate in outpatient services (OPD and ER) under the supervision of senior staff.
• Rotate through specialized inpatient units (ICU, CCU, Hemodialysis), if required, under the supervision of the Senior Staff Member in-charge.
• Prepare problem lists, discharge summaries, death reports, and special patient reports as needed.
• Participate in Continuous Medical Education (CME) through medical meetings and departmental educational activities such as Grand Rounds, tutorials, Journal Clubs, and morbidity and mortality meetings.
• Carry out administrative, organizational, and other duties as assigned by the Head of the Department.

Patient and Family Education

• Educate patients and families according to their needs, implementing the patient and family education policy and procedure, including documentation in medical records.
• Involve patients and families in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
• Provide health promotion and teaching appropriate to the patient’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language preference, culture, and specific situation.
• Allocate necessary time to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education, ensuring appropriate documentation.

Reporting Structure and Collaboration

The General Practitioner reports to the Senior Registrar, Consultant Internist or Consultant of the Subspecialty (Division), and the Head of Department. This role involves liaison with all physicians, staff of supporting professional services, patients, and their families.

Qualifications and Licensing

• Recognition as a General Practitioner by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
• Current valid license to practice medicine in the area of specialty.

Professional Standards and Compliance

The General Practitioner is expected to abide by the Policies and Procedures of the Department of Internal Medicine and the By-Laws, Rules, and Regulations of Riyadh Care Hospital, ensuring all medical practices align with established guidelines and quality plans.
