External Auditor Job Summary The External Auditor is responsible for planning and executing external audit engagements to evaluate the accuracy of financial reporting, assess the effectiveness of internal controls, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, accounting standards, and auditing standards. The role involves identifying risks, reporting audit findings, and recommending corrective actions to strengthen governance, compliance, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute external audit engagements using a risk-based audit approach. Review and evaluate financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable regulatory requirements. Assess the effectiveness of internal controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes. Evaluate compliance with laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards. Perform substantive and control testing to identify financial, operational, and compliance risks. Analyze accounting records, financial transactions, and supporting documentation. Prepare audit reports that clearly document findings, observations, risks, and recommendations. Discuss audit findings with management and recommend corrective actions. Follow up on the implementation of agreed corrective action plans. Maintain complete audit documentation in accordance with International Standards on Auditing (ISA). Coordinate with client management and relevant stakeholders throughout the audit process. Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. Ensure audit assignments are completed within agreed timelines while maintaining high quality standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CIA, or equivalent are preferred. Master's degree is an advantage. Experience3–5 years of experience in External Audit. Experience in one of the Big Four firms (KPMG, PwC, EY, Deloitte) is preferred. Experience auditing financial institutions, banks, insurance companies, investment firms, or listed companies is highly desirable.
