Payroll Officer Department Human Resources / Finance[2–5 years, or as required]Salary: 9000 SRJob Summary The Payroll Officer is responsible for accurately processing employee payroll, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, maintaining payroll records, and addressing employee payroll-related queries. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and coordination with HR and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities Process monthly payroll accurately and on time for all employees Maintain employee payroll records, including salaries, deductions, bonuses, and overtime Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESI, PT, TDS, gratuity, and labor laws Calculate and process final settlements, leave encashment, and arrears Prepare and submit statutory reports and returns within timelines Handle payroll audits and respond to internal and external audit queries Coordinate with HR for employee data changes (joining, exits, promotions, increments) Address employee payroll queries and resolve discrepancies Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and employee information Support year-end activities including Form 16, tax declarations, and reconciliations Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or HRProven experience in payroll processing Sound knowledge of payroll laws and statutory compliance Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll software Strong numerical and analytical skills Preferred Skills Experience with payroll systems (SAP, ADP, Zoho Payroll, or similar) Knowledge of income tax calculations and labor law compliance High level of accuracy and attention to detail Good communication and interpersonal skills
