The Role This is a senior, systems-driven Head Chef role, not a purely creative kitchen position. You will own menu engineering, recipe systems, and quality governance end-to-end, while preparing the culinary operation to scale across menus, volumes, and future kitchen locations. This role is ideal for chefs who have built repeatable excellence, not just cooked great food. Key Responsibilities Menu Engineering & Culinary Leadership Own end-to-end menu engineering: ideation, testing, costing, margin optimization, and performance reviews. Lead quarterly menu cycles: launch new dishes, onboard new chefs/influencers, and revamp or retire underperforming items. Balance creativity with scalability, cost discipline, and operational feasibility. Quality Control & Consistency Define and enforce standards for taste, portioning, presentation, and food safety. Implement structured tastings, QA checks, audits, and feedback loops. Identify and fix quality issues at the root cause, not through short-term workarounds. Ensure consistent, high-quality output regardless of volume, staffing changes, or peak demand. Recipes, Documentation & Process Own all recipe documentation: standardized recipes, prep methods, cooking instructions, yields, allergens, and plating. Optimize recipes for repeatability, training, and sustainable production at scale. Build, maintain, and enforce SOPs covering prep, cooking, storage, hygiene, and waste control. Operations, Team & Kitchen Expansion Lead, mentor, and develop kitchen teams with clear performance standards. Plan capacity and workflows to support growth without compromising quality. Partner closely with operations, procurement, and supply chain. Play a critical role in expanding Prepd to additional kitchen locations, ensuring standards, recipes, SOPs, and quality systems are fully transferred and upheld from day one. Continuous Improvement Use performance data, customer feedback, and operational metrics to drive improvements. Introduce tools, controls, and processes that reduce variability and increase efficiency. Stay current on food trends and scalable kitchen best practices. Qualifications (Important for Fit)8+ years of professional culinary experience. Strong experience in menu engineering, recipe development, and cost control. Proven ability to build systems, documentation, and processes, not just cook. Deep understanding of food safety, QA, and large-scale kitchen operations. Experience in delivery-focused or central kitchens preferred. Strong leadership, structure, and problem-solving skills.
